I run a Intel I3 550 @3.2ghz when I was overclocking it to 4.2ghz DCS gave me issues.

I was running a crossfire setup ATI 6770 and 5770 fps was poor, I now run a sapphire HD7850 OC and never go below 30fps, average around 65fps

My processor never seems to go over 50% usage, and since running the new card even though it is pci express 2 with a pci express 3 card it runs great :)

I am particularly curious about what will grant the most performance improvement in DCS world, especially on the ground or flying low level. I currently have an AMD 1055t overclocked to 3.75Ghz and an HD6950 modded to HD6970 spec. Typically my fps near airfields is 20-23, though at one point was as low as 16. Obviously looking for the cheapest and simplest way to improve performance. I'm more than likely CPU limited and an upgrade to FX-8350 or 8320 fits. I already have a supported motherboard a SSD and 8GB of ram. If its a graphics bottleneck then, I'd look into grabbing an AMD HD7xxx graphics card.

it's a coding bottle neck,

w/ VSYNC Off, I get 100+ frames/sec as long as Im above Angels 10~.

once I start flying low, and the terrain starts to fade in the bump mapping + the specular + the explosions + Vehicles. it starts to slow down.

I've never had above 24/34 at a base with wing men, along at a base i get 40 or so.

this is at 6048x1080, but it was the same if i dropped to 1 screen.

The terrain engine isnt efficient.
