In game. For some reason, DCS defaults to right throttle being thrust for both, and left throttle being rudder. You have to go into the axis assign section for each plane you plan on flying, and manually reassign the axes for the throttles. Basically, deselect the dual thrust axis assignment, choose right throttle, then run it through its motion. Do the same with left, and you should be good.

Just a stab, but wouldn't you want the Target profile running then set the controls in the game?

That is wierd.

Make absolutely certain, that you are choosing the appropriate sim, and level of difficulty, in the drop down box before you go into assigning the controls.

ie when you click on the controls tab, the drop down box on upper left in control section, choose A-10C Sim ( assuming you are using the more complex sim mode). Then assign the controls ( with your target profile running).

I know that probably sounds elementary, but believe me it is easy to mess that up - I certainly have done that.

Cheers. I have gone through everything but still cant get it to work. I am going to try a full uninstall of both DCS world and TARGET and start from scratch.

quick question. will the controls in game be saved for next time if TRAGET is Running?

They certainly should I would think - but I also would think you would need your profile loaded and running, before going into A-10C each time, otherwise it might go back to the default profile for the Warthog, if the profile in Target is not running. It would then recognize it as two separate controllers, rather than one virtual controller like it does with Target profile running.

I personally do not use Target for the A-10C as I like running it in it's default setup, so I am just guessing there, but maybe someone else that does can also clarify this for you.

One thing you might consider trying before going through the trouble of uninstalling and reinstalling? Go into <your user name> - saved games - dcs - config-input-A-10C-joystick- and delete the lua file or files associated with your Warthog. Might be worth a shot, that is probably what I would try next.

I am still fairly new to the sim, I am sure there are others better versed than I on this, maybe someone else will come along also with some other ideas.

Edit: I kind of got sidetracked there talking about A-10C, re-reading the thread I realize you are talking about FC3 - I am not sure there, but would think the same principals would apply... obviously you would want to look under the FC3 directory in saved games, if it works the same way.

Best of luck,

Okay. so I deleted the LUA files, launched the TARGET profile and then DCS world. Went into the axis control page and went to the thrust left/right and tried to get the axis to work, it seems that it might have done the trick. Although I did noticed that to get the axis to register in the command box I had to pull the throttle all the way back to idle... never had to do that before.

Anyway that seems to have that under control for now, thanks for all your help d.burnette, it got me a little bit further along.

With that I have now come across my next small problem.... I can't seem to get the target designator controls to work with the TM warthogs ministick.

Anyone got any suggestions?:joystick:

Thanks again.

Woohoo, I hope that was it and it sticks, best of luck!

re: your next small problem, sorry that one I have no idea as I do not have FC3.

Have fun!
