New to map creation, little help??

Hi All,

 

I've created a map primarily to get mid air refuelling practice and have found that my friend shows as connected but then immediately drops from the game so we are unable to continue? I only have two F-15's and a tanker so I'm really confused as to what the problem is?

 

Please can someone suggest what I can do?... We are both running 1.2.2.75.70

Take the tanker out of the mission and see if the issue persists. I seem to recall someone mentioning tankers as culprits when it comes to current MP stability.

I'll back up what Viper says. The new 7570 patch has made DCS World into DCS Hell for multiplayer (careful, else I'll upset the DCS sychophants).

 

I had a MP map and it would not allow any connections from client machines. Then I followed the advice on the following post... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98319. It looked promising after taking the tankers + AWACS out, but all that did was cause a delayed server crash after about an hour. There are some other bits in there you can try in that thread, but it depends how desperate you are to play. Personally I don't believe you should have to fix software yourself, you wouldn't do it for a new car!

 

As much as I love DCS World, I'm staying off it until it's fixed, because I don't want to lose my interest, like some of my mates who already have done. ED are being bolshy in keeping it schtum about when a new update is going to get released, in fairness FC3 is beta (A10c isn't :mad:).

I can say that I took the tanker out of my mission and rarely do I have crashes with my server now. Still the occasional one here and there, but nothing horrible...

Did you have to take anything else out, like triggers or anything? I dont force any settings, and I have tried with various maps. Stock A10c maps seem to be best, but even then the app crashes every hour.

 

Also, I'm guessing that being on the ED team you're miles more gen'd up on DCS than I am. So you probably have close to the optimum settings for this? What I need to learn is how to set a server up how you would do it, but I just don't have time to learn how to do that, then test it, and play it, over and over until they release a patch and fix it anyway.

I will say my missions cover many different flyable aircraft so they get rather complex, and taking out the tanker fixed my issues as far as I can tell.

No problem, I'll help where I can, usually my server is pretty stable, but its only usually holding a handful of people...
