riflefighter Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Hello guys, This is my laptop specs. I use my laptop since I have no other PC or option to buy a new one in the near future I5-2410M with 2.3GHZ 4GB RAM ATI 6630M with 1G memory. do you think that the A10 (using the DCS WORLD) will work well (not on optimal settings of course). BTW I have the KA50 (the first game) and there I get around 20-30 FPS with these settings: Thanks, RF
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted December 24, 2012 ED Team Posted December 24, 2012 res of cockpit displays, never have them on every frame, it will kill your system and shadows off for better performance. I would expect 15 - 25 fps on those specs at a guess Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Thanks with the setting I suggested, but whatever you get you will enjoy the DCS A10C its a masterpiece :) they only way you can tell is by trying it, and with the discounted price at the moment its worth the gamble :) Also do not forget DCS World is free to try, you have a SU-25T that can be used before spending any cash, give it a go :) From DCS world Recommended system requirements: Operating system 64-bit: Windows Vista and 7; Processor: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better; Memory: 4GB; Hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX: 9.0C; requires internet activation. Kuky Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 hm.... not sure, I think there are some new graphical features introduced after BS1 but then again you don't have to use them (since your hardware can't really handle it anyway). Best is download and install DCS World as it is for FREE and see how it runs. Su-25T is available in it and try flying with it and use Shkval etc as that uses bit of CPU cycles, and if you see acceptable FPS on your laptop flying Su-25T you can decide to get A-10C... they will run about the same. Agg Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Download DCS World and see for yourself, it should give you a fair guess as to what to expect. The Warthog is a bit heavier than the default Su-25T, but as I said, it will give you some indication :)
riflefighter Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Thanks for you answers! I will try and report for the FPS I'm getting. Do you suggest any particular mission / scenario for testing? Have a nice day
riflefighter Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 ok, I've tried the SU25T with the instant action ground attack mission. with all the shaders on low, texture, scene and visibility on medium , without HDR and display on 512 (without every frame option) I get around 25-35 without Shkval display and around 25 with it, I also get annoying "tears" of the view. what do you say? maybe I missed something? or just I shouldnt run this sim
Lange_666 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I also get annoying "tears" of the view. Is VSync set to "on". If no, set it to "on" to prevent tearing. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
