When I use RPM Nominal in DCS World Blackshark, I do not get the rotor warning as I should be when the RPM's are reduced. I thought I would ask here before I reported it as a bug. Is this the same for any other DCSW BS pilots?

thank you.

Thank you, but the question is about the RPM nominal switch and rotor RPM warning.

I was not very clear... The "readjustment control for the free-turbine RPM governer", when set to "Low" does not get the RPM warning like it is supposed to, and it is a bug in DCS World/BS2.

Just to ask: There are actual BS2 Beta testers that try this stuff out? BEcause if there are, they are sleeping on the job. BS2 get more bugs each time World is updated.

As far as I've been able to determine, the switch drops the rotor RPM and is used during rapid descent (i.e. a spiral descent). Because you are dropping the RPM, it also disables the low RPM warning so that it's not beeping at you constantly.

That's what I've been able to determine, anyway.

Read the manual. It is supposed to beep at you to let you know you in in RPM low mode. It worked in BS2 and BS1.

I can see reporting this will do no good. No one even cares. Feature not bug.... yeah right.

thank you for replying, seikdel. Did not mean to take anything out on you :)

It is my opinion that the manual is in error. The rotor RPM never drops below 80% during the test so there is no reason for the low rotor RPM warning to come on.

EDIT: okay i'm off a bit, at least. According to the manual, "nominal" should result in a rotor rpm of 89%, and "low" should get you 84%, and according to the manual, the zebra light comes on at 85%. I don't remember when the zebra light really comes on.

I am sure there has been no beeping in blackshark 1, nor blackshark 2.

Since this function reduces you're rpm to about minimum, I would understand the logic of disabling the beeping.

Anyways, it's not a big deal.
