Wayc00lio Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 It always seems to me that the radalt is out in dcs. It probably isn't, but when flying low, I swear I'm virtually kissing the ground and the radalt is reading, say, 150ft. Is this normal? Dejjvid Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Maybe you have big lips? :megalol: Are you sure you are looking at RADAR ALTITUDE and not barometric altitude? AFAIK it's working. I'm 99% certain it does in fact. i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
WildBillKelsoe Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 AFAIK, radar altimeter gives XXXX at some altitude. But from 150 meters AGL, I'd say if you're getting XXXX it's probably not turned on, or if turned on, I'd say mis calibrated? Wayc00lio Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 No, its Radalt [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus ROG Rampage Extreme VI; i9 7900X (all 10 cores at 4.5GHz); 32 Gb Corsair Dominator DDR4; EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid; 1Tb Samsung 960 Evo M2; 2Tb Samsung 850 Pro secondary. Derbysieger Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Seems weird. Works just fine for me, The difference between the barometric altitude and radar alt is because I'm flying over the see at the time of the 2nd screen.: http://www.abload.de/img/dcs2013-01-0817-40-2412f8o.png http://www.abload.de/img/dcs2013-01-0817-43-17b1in8.png Edited January 8, 2013 by Derbysieger CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | Mobo: ASRock X870E Taichi Lite | RAM: 96GB DDR5-6000 CL30 | GPU: ASUS RTX5090 32GB ROG Astral | SSDs: 3xSamsung 990 Pro 4TB M.2 Peripherals: Warthog HOTAS | Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base | TrackIR 5 | MFG Crosswinds | 3xTM Cougar MFDs | HP Reverb G2
Wayc00lio Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 As I said - it's probably a perception thing. The numbers are right, it just seems that when it reads 500ft, I look a hell of a lot closer to the ground than that!
