TheMoose Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Is it still only 10308? why I ask is. I was getting random CTD online, however once I tried with DMZ seems to have went away (crossing fingers) Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. Blaze Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Should still be yes, however having wrong ports set up won't make DCS crash to desktop... i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. TheMoose Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Should still be yes, however having wrong ports set up won't make DCS crash to desktop... Cant really say, however noted since DMZ enable, no more CTD via MP so far, so go figure ;) a decade ago 10308 was only required, however now with DCS world, Master server list and so on, is that port still only what is required for multilayer? The master list and all the servers, starforce for that matter? All communicate via the same port? I don't want to wire-shark the game to get the answer, just would like something official if you please? Blaze Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I've had 10308 set to open TCP and UDP since the original Lock-On days and to this day with DCS World it's all I've needed. i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Blaze Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Make sure you set up 2 port openings for 10308 - one TCP and one UDP. :) Note: Having the right ports open really only matters when you are the server host. Otherwise, there shouldn't be any issues (or CTD's for that matter). i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Frostie Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Beta problems maybe. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99109 Preliminary DCS Change Log 1.2.3 .. .. Bug Fixes and Adjustments: DCS World • Fixed client crash in MP. .. .. 1.2.3 Update During the course of version 1.2.3 testing, we found a significant technical problem with multiplayer. With the Russian Christmas holiday upon us, we unfortunately will not be able to release version 1.2.3 until the middle of January 2013. Given the feedback we have received on the current state of network play stability, we feel it important to resolve this before the release of 1.2.3. Happy New Year "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. Hamblue Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Not crashing has nothing to do with using DMZ. You'll find that it goes in cycles. I'll go several nights without a single crash, others I can't stay on for more than a half hour before a crash. The game is evil. It waits until you spend the time to get to the target area before hitting. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. BRooDJeRo Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Portforwarding should only be relevant for incoming signals. In DCS case the port YOU have set up. Masterserverlisting is initialy an outgoing connection from your server. Unless your routers/firewalls need outgoing connections setup too. When you can use a browser to this forum without setting anything up then outgoing is always open. Certain packetfiltering could put trouble on the table though. The ones that block pinging and tracing for instance. Anti-DDOS settings have never given me any problems. Edited January 19, 2013 by BRooDJeRo
