Lange_666 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 While fiddling around with Windows 8, i tried the various suspended modes like sleep and hibernate. Never used them before in other versions of Windows so Win 8 is the first time i tried these options out. As far as i can see everything works fine except that my CH Pro Pedals play dead after i wake the computer out of sleep or hibernate modus. What's more weird is that in the Device & Printers section these still seem there, activated and show no problem. The only way to revive them is pulling the the USB plug and plug it back in a few seconds later. I looked around over at CH Hangars forum and found quite some posts about this problem starting already way back in the Win XP days. But none of these threads i found there came with a confirmation that one of the provided options to make it work, actually worked and solved the problem. I tried all i could find, power settings, suspended modes (BIOS and Windows) etc...you name it... no joy. CH stuff won't wake up after going to sleep. So i thought, let's ask inhere...:helpsmilie: Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. JozMk.II Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I've run into this problem myself. I've found that there are two possible situations, both with their own solution: 1. If the CH Control Manager shows that no controllers are detected(as indicated by the indicators for "Off Mode," "Direct Mode," and "Mapped Mode" at the top of the CH Control Manager window being greyed out), then open the Windows Task Manager and check under "Processes" for multiple instances of the TrackIR5 software running. Turning these off, for whatever reason, does the trick on my end. 2. If the previously mentioned indicators for the different controller modes at the top of the CH Control Manager window are in fact NOT greyed out, then click on "Test/Calibrate" at the top of the CH Control Manager window, and hit "Rescan" to re-detect your CH devices. Hope this helps. 1
Lange_666 Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 1: I only have multiple instances of TrackIR5 (or 4 if that is installed) running when it doesn't shut down like it should. Happens in 10 to 20% of the cases. Existed already in Windows XP and never has been solved. You can only kill them through the Task Manager. But in my case, i always check that it has shut down properly and is not the culprit. 2: The "ReScan" does indeed bring the pedals back to life. Good workaround. Thx for the tip Joz. Madone Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Weird indeed because AFAIK only the Wifi USB key are able to hibernate and there's a option to not allow that. Well if you can got it working back it good for you. Lange_666 Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Solved: Did a clean Windows 8 install instead of the upgrade over my existing Windows 7 (since the Windows 8 was bought as an upgrade, i didn't think you could do a clean full install with it but that was not true). Since then, no more disconnect on sleep mode. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600.
