Excellent vid .

Question , there are some warthog mechs that frequent the forum .

At 2.30 in the vid , there is a good shot of the inside of the fwd canopy frame . Between the mirror and the yellow handle lower down , what fasteners are those . I would have thought hi-loks or hi-lites would be good , but these look like monster MS pan head rivets ..... but they look massive , and the head looks very flat ..... what are they please ?

Are you talking about the bolt for the manual canopy handles (yellow handle)? I don't recall the size as we don't mess with them often but it's just a standard bolt.

Does his orange shirt mean that he is a member of a tiger squadron?

Tiger Squadron? If you mean a member of the 23rd Fighter Group, aka the Flying Tigers then yes, the East Coast demo team is based out of Moody AFB, Ga the home of the 23rd Fighter Group, 74th Fighter Squadron and 75th Fighter Squadron.

I ment a member of one of these... http://www.natotigers.org/tigerunits/index.php

...so the "Tiger" in the squadron name is a coincidence?

Although I hate Wikipedia these are actually decent articles. Below are links to the history of the USAF Flying Tigers.

No ..... the fasteners in the canopy frame itself , that go around the complete frame . From what I can see and imagine , from the looks of it its a blind section , so they are possibily blind fasteners ..... maybe like a blind huck , but Ive never seen very shallow heads like that , only on 130 degree hi-lites . I would have thought hi-loks or hi-lites cuz of the major stress area . Not something ive come across in 30 odd years doing structures .

Those are basically "plugs" the fasteners are behind them.

Oh right ..... we don't have fancy "plugs" like that on civy stuff !!! Out of interest , what fasteners are behind the plugs ?

Whats the reason for the plugs , apart from being pleasing to the eye ?

As for the bolt on the yellow handle , I would think its a standard 3/8 hex head , 10/32 NAS or AN bolt .
