Quick question...does Black Shark 2 get better framerates than A10C in DCS World? When the original Black Shark first came out, I don't remember having performance problems. With A10C, my frame rates are in the low teens while just sitting on the runway. There is no way I can fly it. I would consider the Black Shark 2 if my performance would be better. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Are you talking about the frame rates for the A10C or Black Shark? As for the A10C, my best frame rates in the A10C training missions is the navigation mission in which I'm in the air away from everything and my frame rates is in the 30's. I felt like that meant I would get poor rates when flying multiplayer or near a lot of action?

the frame rate gets better when youre off the ground, the closer you are to the ground the worse your frame rate will be

IIRC(Haven't tried it myself)

There is some workaround about deleting or renaming one of the dustcloud or smokecloud files...(can't remember name)

Most of the frame rate issues people experience are due to the limitations in the current engine. EDGE should be better. Try running on a single monitor and turning down the settings. Renaming of a dust cloud should help reduce some of the FPS because the game wont be loading that one. Keep in mind however, that anytime you update the game this file will be renamed back to the original setting.

Wait for the paid for addon called blackshark 3 then all your problems will be fixed, if not then, then rest assured it will be by the time the paid for addon called blackshark 4 is released.

Unfortunately this speaks much truth.

Not true. The module itself is not the cause of the lower frame rates, but the graphics engine that World uses to render everything that causes the slow down. That being said, some of the ground dust caused by the rotor wash will cause you to have FPS loss and feel like the game has lower FPS than the other modules.

The BS module does not render anything, It only provides the code for the avionics, flight model ect. All the graphics in the game are handled by DCS Worlds renderer.

Fine with me, as long as they provide changes that actually matter. Upgrades like avionics systems would be cool as heck. I know I wouldn't work for free.

"But, we can't model it realistic enough to use in DCS World! quack, quack."

This argument was thrown out the window as soon as FC3 planes were let into it (the World), IMHO.

Sorry for the OT.

I find that the FPS mods I did for 1.2.2 FPS don't work as well in 1.2.3. I re-installed them in 1.2.3 but it seems a bit slower in FPS.
