Mule Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I have done a good search on the forums for this but can't find what I'm looking for. I have the A10c, Ka50 and have no problems changing or setting switches in the control part of the settings. However with the Mustang I can't set simple things like the flap switch on the throttle to, well the flap switch? The axis all work as expected its just the switches. Can anyone help? If this is a well known issue apologies been away from here for a few months. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Konrad Friedrich Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I think I know what you mean. I also fiddled how to assign the switches. It looks as if the simulation does not read out the default positions of the switches for the P-51 (which it does for the A-10). Which means that you can't assign a function to the middle position of the three way switches whereas you only can assign one position of the two way switches. For the flaps: I've mapped them to the flaps switch. The upper position to flaps up and the lower position to flaps down. I simply click the switch back and forth to extend/retrieve flaps. Works pretty good. But it would be nice if it could be mapped like the switches for the A-10C.
Seil Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 You can do this, you just have to write a Target program for it. In the Target scripting manual, there's a couple examples for building a profile for FC that allows you to send an output when the switch is in the middle position.... This profile wouldn't be compatible with the A10C though, you'd have to switch profiles when you switch aircraft. -Seil WotG Founder & A10C Lead
Konrad Friedrich Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Good point ... I completely forgot that you can use the target software...
Mule Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 Thanks for the help. To be honest I was trying to avoid using Target in DCS . If you have managed to assign flaps then at least it's recognising your switches. I will give it another try when I get a chance. Cheers. Fighter Pilot Podcast.

-MadCat- Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Just to share ideas, I personally use the FLAPS switch on the throttle for the missile modes (SAFE , SINGLE , AUTO). As the flaps in the mustang, controlled with buttons have 6 positions, I find it not too convenient to map it onto a 3-position switch. The flaps up and down went on the china-hat in my configuration. On a side note, yes I'm using TARGET. Apart from the profile switching when entering a different craft, I personally only experienced it to be benefitial using the provided programming capabilities.
