DazzyB Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi All, I've now purchased DCS A-10C but think it will take me a while to do a proper mission due to the amount of training (and note-keeping) needed plus I don't want to start anything too serious until my TM Warthog arrives! Soooooo, I really really am desperate to see what this amazing sim on my hard drive is capable of!!!!! I know that there are lots of Youtube videos around but what I would really love would be to sit in front of the sim itself in all it's glory and awe at 1920x1200 resolution and watch a complete mission, from startup to shutdown! I did have a look in the User Files section but there are only about 5 track files there and none of them cover a complete mission, including engine startup, right through to engine shutdown. Would some of you guys do some tracks for me of a total flight (and show me your skills in the process :smilewink:). I would love night missions as well as daytime ones. I think a lot of newbies like myself would really appreciate this. I certainly would! Thank you, looking forward to feeling my jaw hit the floor! Dazzy.

DazzyB Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Do you want from engine start-up? Hi Mule, Yes please! The more realistic the mission, the better :) Cheers, Dazzy.
Evil.Bonsai Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Be aware that the track system isn't exactly the most robust. When a mission/track file runs a bit long, errors start to creep in, to the point that it drifts away from what actually happened. It may have gotten better with recent updates, but I've not heard anything saying it has. A fairly short custom mission lasting about 40 mins might be about max. Longer than that and you start getting errors, in a way that events unfolding on the screen as you watch won't necessarily match what actually happened.

Perhaps a couple of touch and gos including start up and shut down procedures will suffice then. That is what I will be doing initially for a little while anyway before I get into the combat operations... Dazzy.
Evil.Bonsai Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 There'll still be time, in a simple mission, to get plenty done. I won't be home until tomorrow, but I can post something up, if no one else does.

Hey James, Thank you so much! Can't wait to see this later! Nice, I will be adding these two..as I am new to this as well. Do I place these in the DCS World tracks folder? Thanks for posting these, but would someone mind telling me where these folders are? I cannot find them under C:\\Programs\Eagle.... See, I KNEW I wouldn't been the only one interested in these! Would it be feasible to create a dedicated Tracks thread for newbies like us? Just a tought! :D Dazzy.
Evil.Bonsai Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Less than stellar performance on my part, but I kept having issues with JTAC calling 'no mark' after calling mark. Worked out in the end. Night ramp start. Short flight. Humvee JTAC marking 3 T55s with IR.night ramp jtac.trk
NC_Cyborg Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Bonsai, Great track. I have always had a problem getting JTAC to use IR. It has been hit and miss. I have not tried it since the new patch though. 'NC_Cyborg' [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic88701_1.gif[/sIGPIC]

I haven't got a clue what you guys did or how you did it (I have a huge amount to learn gulp!) but it was IMPRESSIVE! Thank you both so much :D Keep em coming!!!! Dazzy.
