Looking at all the thrreads in Input and Output, do I have to learn how to code using tartet script editor to use my warthog joystick, throttle, and saitek combat rudders? Back in the day, I had the saitek x-45, and was able to play longboy without having to use their scipt editor. Was just plug and play. I am not finding that so with my current setup. Everything is so confusing trying just to fly!

Depends on what aircraft you want to fly, and what you want set on your hotas. That being said, if you walk through the wizard on the Target GUI for a new profile, you can point and click program everything on the controllers.

The best thing you could do, is open up the Target manual and start reading through it. You can find it by clicking the drop down box under " How do I", and selecting the first option - user manual. Creating a script using the Target GUI is not that bad, it can seem somewhat daunting at first but as you read and then start by creating just a sample basic profile to learn, it begins to come to you fairly easily - at least it did for me.

It really is worth it, as it is a very powerful program allowing one to do a lot of things for the stick configuration, like creating multiple commands for a single button press.

Now granted for DCS-A10C it is really not needed , unless you want to assign more commands to the buttons instead of the default ones. I just use the Warthog as is for DCS-A10C as it really is just plug and play for the most part for that sim , but I do use Target for creating profiles for some of my other sims, and I really like it for that.

I would start with the Target UI. If you really want to unlock the power of the scripting language the script editor is the way to go. The GUI is very limited in what it can do.

The WH advanced scripting is basically a subset of ANSI C so you could go through some basic c tutorials really just covering syntax and basic features then learn all the API calls they have in their library and you would be good to go.

If you do not have any programming experience i would STRONGLY recomend you start with just the GUI

If I had know this warthog was going to be this difficult, I would NOT of bought it. Saiteks is NO where this complicated. This is just stupid. 600 bux down the drain.

The GUI is pretty much point to the button you want and then make some choices and fill in a box with what you want it to do. I sincerely urge you to look at the manual before throwing your hands up. It really is not that difficult.
