VIMANAMAN Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Keep doing it all wrong... (ME... ME keep doing it all wrong!!!! ME ME ME.... right ?) Hi Jcomm, Can you clarify what you're saying - it's hard to tell if you've just got a very high xwind going on or ....you've found some problem we've all missed!
rubblebeam Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Fanboys fanboys fanboys. I'll wager 100% of the folk hating on il2 have played it and played it and played it. Il2 like FSX has variety. DCS is going to make you pay for every single addon. at least il2 offered new aircraft with pretty much each new patch. Something that made the sim last as long as it has and continues to. Thats the problem with the fall of communism all the tallented folk are all master capatalists now. Kind regards Good Grief

rubblebeam Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 You don't quite get DCS by the sounds. Thanks anyway for your input. A pretty empty response. No substance just a negative dismissal. What is there to get? Its a "digital combat simulator" Same thing as il2, same thing as arma, arma2 etc etc. Graphics are a bit fancier. Whats to get? Whats the point of your dismissal my good man? Good Grief

ED Team NineLine Posted March 10, 2013 ED Team Posted March 10, 2013 This is a Sim with potential, but they must take a few notes from Olegs IL2 wrt FMs on prop aircraft.. seriously  Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Hi Jcomm, Can you clarify what you're saying - it's hard to tell if you've just got a very high xwind going on or ....you've found some problem we've all missed! Of course :-) 1) The x-wind component is so strong + turbulence at 60 that when in the mission I choose to takeoff from rw the sim still puts me in the tarmac because there is actually no good rw for the takeoff... 2) I set both trims (rudder and aileron) and never neutralize any of them during the whole flight, thus having to use sometimes huge deflections to oovercome 3) 3) I keep crossing controls... 4) I set full flaps soon after takeoff, just retract one point a few minutes latter but then revert back to full, and fly that way all the time... 5) I end up landing in a taxiway Eheh... Yes, I no I should rather go fighting online, but I do not like air combat and just bought DCS to enjoy the FDMs, so, I keep flying around aerodromes, and making a few dead reckoning flights across the scenery area, and trying to find time to end the a10c and ka-50 manuals... I feel bad when I read those posts about the use of sophisticated weapon systems I could be using, but honestly, that's not what I am after :-) I did buy and enjoyed very much the 1st IL2-Sturmovik version. The first patch released somehow spoiled some of the accuracy and exigence of the flight models IMHO, and then I jumped back into MSFS (I do not remember the version by that time...). I have been considering buying CoD too because I really love watching some videos, but I still have a LOT to learn with DCS ... and now got involved with FSX Gold again, Whowing with the DX10 mode :-)... and... there's that UH-1H helo coming soon (I hope!!!). Crucial reading about DCS: Black Shark - Black Shark and Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamics, Black Shark and the Trimmer, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 1, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 2

Thanks Jcomm, I thought it was something like that - and seems I missed you earlier replies somehow - thanks for clarifying again. Sounds like you're having a hoot! Have done similar before, it's good to fly sideways occasionally:D I cut my teeth on IL2, loved it in the day - An yeah both the Hog and the Shark are worth the investment of time, as you'll know. I'm the same re just flying for the fun of it - although I do enjoy the military side of this awesome creation - I can still find plenty to keep me interested (& learning) just by flying patterns or A to B flights in different conditions. Am currently just flying circuits off the US carrier - didn't think it was possible to stop in time on the angled deck - If you haven't tried it yet, it sounds right up your street:) I have the boat doing 20kts into 4mps of wind - it's great when you do a good one (have re-invented the wheeler landing). Will post something. Anyways ta for reply, sorry missed your earlier posts - is it me or did this thread get laid down in record time.
