Nevins Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Hey all, Just got DCS-A10 a few days ago and I have been trying to play it ever since. I went through the initial mission fine, but as soon as I launch any other mission (training, fast action, etc) I get a camera problem. As soon as the mission loads in my camera begins infinitely looping on its Y-axis, think of being able to look up and just continually rotating the camera on that heading, forever. I tried to isolate the problem/look around on here but nothing seems to work. If I hold num5 it will lock the view in place, but then I can do nothing else so thats an enormous problem My setup is as follows- Saitek X52 Sager Gaming laptop (can post specific specs if needed) the webcam trackIR thing. I was concerned that the problem was a custom profile I downloaded for DCS from here for my X52, but after loading a blank profile and restarting the comp/game, no luck. I then disabled the trackIR (the webcam was off, as well as the app), again no luck. I then unplugged the X52 completely and it accomplished nothing, again. I thought that maybe I set up something incorrectly and so I deleted the folder in C:/......./savegames but this didnt work either. I finally threw my hands in the air, deleted the game and reinstalled from steam. Just launched this morning with no joystick or any other peripherals, and the exact same issue. Any help would be massively appreciated I was really looking forward to this and this camera bug is just killing it for me. Note that this bug occurs no matter which of the views I am in, if I am in third person/looking at other aircraft I get the same bug. I can temporarily stop it by using the mouse or holding num5 (yes, I tried unplugging the mouse. No luck) but then I cant play the game.
joey45 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 try deleting any mouse settings in the option menu.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Sierra99 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Any help would be massively appreciated Almost sounds like a stuck key... However, id make sure that with everything hooked up, there isn't a duplicated setting entered. Find the view settings and make sure that only 1 column has a value. Nevins Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the quick responses! So I followed both sets of advice and went into the options --->view menu and deleted anything that was not in the keyboard column. Unfortunately I still have the problem, and none of my keys are highlighted as red/duplicate. Note that this spinning (I can make a video if that would be helpful) begins as soon as the mission loads up, before I even hit the lets begin check box. The spinning also roughly doubles in speed when I pause the game. EDIT - As usual, the noobie goofed. I was only modifiying the Free Camera profile, not the A-10 Sim submenu as well. Thanks everyone, seems to be fixed now. For anyone with a similar problem, the issue was the Virtual Joystick that the Webcam TrackIR program installs. I never configured it so I didnt think that it was a problem but it was somehow triggering the look up key over and over. That was the issue. Edited March 12, 2013 by Nevins

What bindings were the problem, if you don't mind me asking? I've had some issues back when I was using FaceTrackNoIR that I assumed were due to my curves that I set in the tracking. I changed them and got the tracking to stabilize but every once in awhile the looping would return. I chalked it up to FTNoIR not being very stable. Now I have TrackIR 5 and it works much better but last night I wound up with the looping you are talking about. I'm going to check the bindings in the Virtual Joystick field tonight and see what I find out. But any extra information would be helpful.
