Ok.. This is very frustrating.

I have a friend (mark) who has installed dcs world and wanted to try it with me online.

So he has bought DCS a-10c from a retail shop, and he already had Blackshark. So he bought the upgrade (EShop). He also bought combined arms.

He didn't have the P-51 but bought it yesterday. (EShop)

Here is our problem. When he tries logging in with his login, it says : "invalid serial number"

We found the page where its explained to "unbind" the key serials from his login. We did it, and it worked. Yesterday we could connect once.

But today, we tried again. And nothing. INVALID SERIAL NUMBER again..

We tried unbiding again, but it didn't work anymore..

He also happens to have another DCS account (second acound) with which he once ought an EShop version of the A-10 beta, but when we go there, nothing shows up, and there is nothing to unbind either.

It's very frustrating to have bought all of this (2x A-10C, BS, BS upgrade, CA, P-51) and not being able to fly online.

What can be done here ? Would reinstalling the game work ? Is there a way to remove all the keys present within the register and re activate everything again ?

We really need your help here. I'm affraid if he is still stuck tomorrow he will never purchase a dcs product ever again..

Thank you very much for your help.

Sounds like it's time for the batphone to central administration and see what's realy going on behind the screenz. When there is something missing then something paymentproof-ish must exist somewhere to show off with.

Rgr.

A DCS guy sent me a pm to send him an email. My friend and I have sent him all his game keys and the account we would like them to be bound to.

I hope they can do something about it.

Really frustrating

Hi,

so whats the end of the story? does it work now? I have the same problem with the BS1 ---upgrade--> BS2. It tells me my serial is invalid. It worked before patch 1.2.6 tho. Very wierd. I have bought everything on DCS webshop so no 2 different accounts. I have just one account. All the actions taken liek uninstall everything and deactivated the serial and tried to reactivate and then tells me wrong serial...oh boy. Anyone with any idea around? Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

First things to check:

- Please doublecheck that the activation request is for the product you believe it to be; remember that activation is requested for all non-activated products, not just the one for the aircraft you are starting. You can see identity of the module in top left of activation request.

- What is the exact error message you receive? When and where does this occur?

- Have you ensured that you actually received the Ka-50 UPGRADE module? Best way to ensure this is to use the downloadable installer: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_black_shark_2_upgrade/

- Regarding the above, see this picture to compare with your activation dialog:

Hey EtherealN,

thanks for answering. I did and I could remove the Invalid Serial message in Multiplayer by removing my serial from the regestry. I renetered the serial after running the protect.exe and it got activated again. But still in module manager is no serial showing unded Black Shark Ka-50. Any ideas?

Cheers and thanks

In the main screen of the single player menu, do you see a dollar sign on the Ka-50 icon? If installed properly, there should be no dollar sign there. Just to be sure.

In the Module Manager, have you ensured that you have properly gotten logged in? You should see your account name in top right corner. (Unfortunately I cannot double-check right now, I am traveling.)

wow, allthouigh your travelling you reply to me. Thanks dude!!!

Well there is no $ sign and I am logged in correctly. I have properly bought it and when I remove it with the trashcan symbol and I close the game and restart it and I move on the module manager again, on the main screen of module manager it shows the module which can be bought and there is also the BS2 upgrade which tells me: install instead of buy. So it is somehow recognized that I 've leagally bought the game upgrade. Well I dont care, if the serial won't show up in Module manager as long as I can play online :)

Thanks so much for answering that fast. I was on travalling myself the past 4 days so I could not answer any sooner.

Cheers,

I also have this problem when trying to play A-10C or KA-50 BS2 online.

"Invalid Serial Number"

I have tried every single thing I can think of.

I have installed the A-10C module using both installation methods. CMD prompt and its own installer. I have used 2 deactivations now while trying to sort this out.

Also there is this:

1) I login to the website

2) I click on Orders

3) I then click Details

4) I DO see my Serial number below the download link for KA-50 and A10-C

When I click:

1) Orders

2) Then click the product link in the "Cart" column

3) There is an option to "Show Serial Numbers"

4) I see "You don't have any serial numbers for this product.". I DO have serials for these products which can be seen using the previous method.

5) When I click this button for Huey, Combined Arms and SU25 I DO see a serial number

These two products (Once activated through single player) have no key in Module Manager (I am logged in)

There is NO dollar sign in DCS World. They are in fact "Activated"

It seems to me there is a database error here and it is preventing online play.

I contacted support a few nights ago and am still waiting for a response.

I will keep you posted. Please check to see if you have this same problem.

Cheers!

Which login are you using for MP, the one for the forum or the one for digitalcombatsimulator.com? (note that these are not necessarily identical, you need to login with your digitalcombatsimulator.com account)

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

The one for digitalcombatsimulator.com

When I uncheck A-10C through my module manager I can login just fine. My A-10C serial is the problem.

Most likely you have previously used that serial number with another account online. This sometimes happen because A10C standalone originally simply assigned to the first account that uses it online. You can verify this through this page:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/myserials.php

Log into your account and then check that page. If the A-10C is indeed not on this page either, most likely you have at some point used a different account with this product originally. (Might be one created in the MP interface itself.)

To solve this, you would then need to contact customer support service through this page: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/

Include the relevant information and this can be investigated to see if there is some other account you might have used.

This might answer someones question regarding the A-10C "invalid key message" if bought via Steam ... in the past before August the 2nd 2013 ( the date DCS World got avaible via STEAM)

Here an important information for the players who purchased the A-10C via Steam before DCS WORLD was released on Steam.

You might have added the serial number to your non Steam Version of the game in the past ( I had bought all 4 A-10C modules for my 4 playeraccounts I do own via Steam before DCS-World was avaible on Steam/thats why I know about this issue)

Since DCS World is avaible on Steam, Steam granted their customers another new serial number/different from the original products serialnumber to the DCS A-10C for your Steam account for use in DCS WORLD on Steam (DLC CD-Key for the A-10C).

When you have ever activated the origianal serialnumber /bind it to your DCS account in the past before the release of DCS World on Steam and you play the A-10C on the Steam DCS World logging in with the same login you use for the non steam version of the game you might face a problem wich I want to share with you and its solution.

The new issued serialnumber (Steam DLC CD-Key) granted from steam for your pre DCS World on Steam bought A-10C product will get bind to your DCS account, regardless that there is already/still the original serial number of the same product binded to your account. For a while you even might not notice this fact at all. But when you try to log into the serverbrowser/multiplayergame after reinstalling the whole non steam DCS WORLD and its modules with the activated A-10C module you might face the message "wrong serial number". It took me a couple of attempts solving the issue until I noticed the drop down menue in the module manager of the non steam DCS World version next to the A-10C wich showed me surprisingly both serialnumbers of the module (the original and the one issued by steam after the DCS World launch on Steam.

Solution:

Deactivate the A-10C with the modulemanager in the non steamversion of DCS WORLD.

Log into your player account on the http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com

now open another tab in your browser:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/myserials.php

there you can unbind the doubled serial numbers.

Best you back them up bofore unbind ... because they will disapear.

If you missed the backup of the keys check them out again on Steam).

Depending if you played the A-10C on Steam DCS World or not (or whatever else counts in) it differs wich of the two serials will be accepted by the game when you reactivate them (by starting the multiplayer via desktop shortcut while holding the left shiftkey pressed).

Thanks fellas I appreciate your help, but I bought it through ED's DCS website way before Steam carried it and I have only one account with all of my purchases.

I spent a few hours on the forums trying to sort it out myself prior to contacting support and have read through every sticky.

Bruno, Ethereal - thanks! I did find that page prior and the serial is not listed there either, like I never even bought it. Though when I look at my orders page I see I purchased DCS A-10 (during beta) on Completed

06.10.2010 23:46:29. The proof of my purchase is there.

I know exactly what the problem is. It is the one and only inconsistency. I described it above.

It is located in my orders page. I have the key on the details page so I can play it single player. When I go to the page with the button, "Show Serial", there is no serial.

Every other purchase I have does have a serial number when I click that button.

When it contacts the master server it is looking for that specific serial. When support looks at my account they will see it.
