i have read allot here how to connect my laptop for a profile for dcs a10c.

but it doesn't want to work :(

i'm using the build 1.2.176

helios and profile is working perfect on my dcs pc,

now i wanted to run that profile on my laptop.

so looking on the dcs forums and on the helios forums is saw it was possible.

tryed different things, doesn't seem to work :(

every time Gadroc replyed to that question with:

"Install Helios on both computers. Run Profile Editor on the simulation computer and add the appropriate interface (DCS A-10C) to your profile. Change the IP address in the interface to that of your second computer (or broadcast address). Click the setup button. Now you can close Helios on the DCS PC. Run control center on the Helios PC and start your profile and then start DCS on the DCS machine."

nobody repleyed back, so i guess this should be working and i believe it does.

so i'm i missing something here?

switched off windows firewall

progs running as admin

dcs pc IPv4 ip: 192.168.2.8

laptop IPv4 ip: 192.168.2.3

using Loz SM v2.1 profile

setted ip in that profile on the dcs pc to 192.168.2.3 (laptop)

setted ip from that profile on the laptop to 192.168.2.8 (dcs pc)

didn't work :(

i tryed the ip 192.168.2.255 also, didn't work

i tryed the ip 127.0.0.1 on the laptop, didn't work

tryed to swap all kind ip's, didn't work

what am i missing here?

do i need to set another port?

any other solutions?

thx for the help in advanced

friendly regards

Assuming you will not be with no blocking by the firewall and that you already are aware of the functioning of the new architecture of export.lua.

DCS PC: 192.168.2.8

LAPTOP HELIOS: 192.168.2.3

1. Install, configure your profile and test HELIOS on DCS PC !

2. Install and configure your profile HELIOS on LAPTOP !

3. In the DCS PC open your export file located in "..\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts" and edit the line gHost with the of your laptop ip: gHost = "192.168.2.3"

To use several PCs use broadcast ip gHost = "192.168.2.255"

strange thing was 1 try, i did fast mission and just 2 ai flying, didn't had a plane to fly with. just quited it and retry on that mission and then everything worked!!

hey!

i would also like to have helios working from my server-pc, cause helios costs me ~5-10 fps when on my dcs-machine...

BUT:

how do i manage it, cause my server-pc has just a single monitor, but my dcs-machine has 9 displays...

i dont know how to configure it, that when my server-pc runs Helios it gets displayed correctly on my several displays on the dcs-machine...

(please excuse my weired explanation, im in a hurry *gg* )

thanks!!

agrasyuk, maybe i don't understand correctly...

But i just want to run Helios on my server-machine but use it on my simpit-machine on all its displays.

Is this possible?

Thanks guys!

I believe the graphics associated with the server machine's Helios computations would have to be displayed via the server machine's graphics card outputs.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

well, maybe i do not understand correctly either, but it seems that you want to offload helios computation to another machine but retain display on local machine. i do not see how it has any benefits. If you have a modern quad core CPU Helios can have its own core since DCS is not using them all . and then from what it seems Helios is not that CPU heavy in first place.

in my new setup i do want to try running Helios on separate machine and use Gremlin's solution to transmit MFD/CDU/etc viewports rendered on main PC onto helios PC . perhaps this will save some display outputs

Ah ok, understand...

Yeah, i thought it would be possible the way i was thinking about...

I use a oc i7 @ 3,6 and when in game i turn helios gauges off, it gives me a fps boost of aprox. 5-10.

Soon or later i will upgrade my cpu, but in this case, thanks for information!
