Panthir Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Hello guys, I have purchased Tacview and I am very satisfied by the way that tacview recordings support my effort building skills in DCS World. My configuration has a follows: Asus P8P67 - Intel I7 2600K @ 4,4ghz - 16gb CL9 1600 MSI R6950 Twin Froz III Power Edition @ 940/1450 - 1,25v TM Warthog + TrackIR5 + G25 OCZ Agility 3 SATA III SSD 60GB + Others SATA II raids as well W8 64bit The reason I st up this thread is that allthough Tacview 1.2.2 manual installation on DCS 1.2.3 went ok and everything was working perfectly, being able to record DCS missions, rightafter installing Tacview 1.2.3 on DCS 1.2.3, either auto or manually, I am unable to record DCS World 1.2.3 missions. Eventually, whenever I try to select DSC World recording I get the following message "Export Script installation has failed" - "Please ensure that DCS World is properly installed and you have write access to its folder". At this point I would like to mention that recording [DCS: Black Shark] can be selected and that neither OS, nor Tacview installation and recording folders have changed. New Tacview 1.2.3 software version was the only new parameter in my case. Anyone that faced such a problem :book: My Hardware: ROG Strix X570-F Gaming - AMD 5600X @ 4.7 ghz - G.SKILL TRIDENT 32GB DDR4 3200 (14-14-14-34 CL) - GigaByte 3080ti OC 12gb - Corsair MP600 Force 1TB - 2 x EVO Nvme 500GB - Virpil Warbird Base T-50CM2 and TM Throttle + Trackhat + G25 + AOC AG271QG 27" My Modules: JF-17, F-16C, AV-8N/A, F-18C, ASJ37, MiG-15Bis, MiG-21Bis, Fw-190D, Bf-109K, P-51D, F-86F, Ka-50 III, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, NS430, FC3, A-10C, Mirage 2000C, L-39, F-5E-3, SA342, Spitfire, AH-64, Mirage F-1CE. Rongor Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I have that problem too. Microsoft is heading in the direction of stupid users with each new Windows OS. Windows 7 and 8 set everything on your hard disk to write-protected. Since the Tacview program doesnt know how to circumnavigate this fact, the installation fails. You will also fail if trying to deactivate write protection for your own files. Windows will let you do the procedure but keeping them still write portected after manually switching the properties.

uri_ba Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 try running TAC as administrator and run the export script installation, that might give him the permissions needed. ajax Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I had the same error. I solved it by manually creating the necessary folders and copying the lua files into it.
Panthir Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 Tacview version 1.2.4 solved this issue. Eventually, this issue was related to those users that have "User Files" and of course "Saved Games" folders moved to another HDD than C: My Hardware: ROG Strix X570-F Gaming - AMD 5600X @ 4.7 ghz - G.SKILL TRIDENT 32GB DDR4 3200 (14-14-14-34 CL) - GigaByte 3080ti OC 12gb - Corsair MP600 Force 1TB - 2 x EVO Nvme 500GB - Virpil Warbird Base T-50CM2 and TM Throttle + Trackhat + G25 + AOC AG271QG 27" My Modules: JF-17, F-16C, AV-8N/A, F-18C, ASJ37, MiG-15Bis, MiG-21Bis, Fw-190D, Bf-109K, P-51D, F-86F, Ka-50 III, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, NS430, FC3, A-10C, Mirage 2000C, L-39, F-5E-3, SA342, Spitfire, AH-64, Mirage F-1CE.
