Baracuda Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Gentlemen, I purchased Ka-50 2 and wanted to use the trainings for it. After downloading the file i tried to install it but got a popup wich told me it couldnd find DCS ? I have everything ( DCS and modules) installed on my C drive: eagle dynamics and not in prgramfiles etc. Hope some1 had the same problem and fixed it. tnx
BigfootMSR Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Please clarify, what file are you trying to install? The training missions, or the module? Korn Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) He's trying to install the (video) training files after downloading them. I cannot answer your question directly, however i think i can help you: the training files you are trying to install are simply videos which you are able to view in game. They are not interactive training missions like those for the A-10C. My advice to you is to download this file, which contains community-made interactive training missions for BS2 mimicking those for the A-10C. I would also advice you to simply extract only the mission files from the archive (.miz extension) and play them whithout installing the full integration package and possibly breaking something up. They cover the basics ok. Apparently they are based on the official training videos, which btw you can find on youtube along with many others, some great, so you don't really have a problem Edited March 29, 2013 by Korn
BigfootMSR Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks Korn, I worked hard on those :P Its ok to use the menu integration. It works just fine. I tested it on 1.2.3 and it works perfectly. Baracuda Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 "Excuse" me gentlemen i wasnt precise enough :helpsmilie: I downloaded these training files ( exe) as they dont excist in DCS after i installed the modules. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/video/ When i try to install them i got a popup wich says it cant find DCS on my HD? And the file(s) doesnt install. I have DCS installed in the main root of my C drive and not in programfiles etc. hope this is more clear now? tnx. :)
BigfootMSR Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Hmm, I am not sure why its not detecting the install. Make sure you downloaded the correct missions for instance there is a difference between BS1 and Black Shark 2. My advice would be to download the file that Korn pointed out, or the missions in my signature. The official ones you are trying to download are only videos. You can not interact with them only watch them. I created some interactive training missions that follow and are based on those official videos where you can interact and actually control the air craft. Paul Roberts Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I have the same problem as the original poster. I downloaded the file "Ka-50_Video_Setup_EN.exe" from this page. It's a hefty 1.49 Gigs, and it's supposed to install all of the training videos into BS2 in DCS World. When I run the exe, I get the error "DCS world not found. Installation interrupted." (The installer never asks for a location to install or gives any other options.) Obviously DCS is present on my system, as I was just playing. Is there a way to get these videos to work? Obviously I like and appreciate the training missions that have been made, but I'd like to see these videos too.
ShuRugal Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 if you are using world, the videos are downloaded directly from the in-game UI. go to training, select the shark, and click download. but he videos really are not much worth it, the video and audio quality is poor, and the interactive missions give a much better hands-on feel for the bird.
Yurgon Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 but he videos really are not much worth it, the video and audio quality is poor, and the interactive missions give a much better hands-on feel for the bird. Besides, they can be watched on YouTube in HD: 720p HD Widescreen v1.0 Individual Training Tracks (22) Available There's not much reason to download and install them.
