TheMoose Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Is CA the same caldarium of any other DCS modules? I just purchased it however lacks its presence in the main menus… What gives? Did I just waste some cash? No campaign, no direct mission, no story? Then why the hell did I just purchased this? Was even more expensive then the P51, someone please enlighten me... Now feel regrets since CA has no real gameplay... Note I purchased for main supporting ED. however was surprised that CA lacked very much.... Nate--IRL-- Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 CA is an add-on rather than a module, basically it adds its functionality to all existing missions. There are also Single player missions specifically created for CA also, that showcase its functions. A quick read of the CA manual and you'll see how it integrates within DCS World. TheMoose Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Thanks NATE, but what the purpose of having a hidden product? Should ED push a bit the envelop a bit? just saying I purchased it for support, however looking at integration, to be honest, pardon my french, but it kind of suck... Not integrated into the menu as any other respectful add in, no mission, no campaign. ED Thank you, enjoy my 20 bucks... Does quality over quantity ever a goal? If so Then after an hour with CA, I'm truly disappointed .. BUT I have not lost faith... Keep at it please Edited March 28, 2013 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. alexej21 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 CA is a good choice if you create mission from time to time. You don't need to use complex triggers to move ground units because you just press F10 from the cockpit of you plane and move the target on the map. You can control even air units from your cockpit. That give you opportunity to have CAP/ SEAD/CAS called any time. I hope that ED also fix JTAC in CA. If you move unit with AFAC task then it lost the task and stop giving targets... Thanks I found them. Had too... how else would I be able to activate starforce without it? :) I'm just surprise that from the menu, it's not that obvious and no campaigned, I would have expected at least 1... No biggy, will give it try over the long weekend... Nate--IRL-- Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Yes. EtherealN Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Yeah, you know the F11 map? jayta98 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Hi guys. I was having the same questions and concerns as the OP. So if I understood correctly in order to play CA I have to choose a mission(single, multiplayer or create one) then when I'm flying I have to press F11(map) and from there is in CA mode and I will be playing CA. If my plane or helicopter is on the air flying when I press F11 does it takes control of the plane/helicopter? Or I have to keep an eye at my aircraft so it doesn't crash? Sorry for all the silly questions but I just started learning about DCS simulators and I always loved realist combat simulators. It's been years since I played one but I got back into them. I got CA, P51, A-10 and Ka50. I just ordered my CH pedals and joystick. I have alot of reading and practice to do before I can really start enjoying these games.

You can enter a vehicle (RALT-J) but then the AI takes your Aircraft. 2) The player can play as Ground Commander, control ground and Air units from the F-10 map, can enter vehicles and control that group from the vehicle. And Enter JTAC mode when in vehicle Please take the time to read the CA manual, it will make this a lot clearer. I will read it before asking more questions. Thanks.
Paganus Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 You can have CA only missions or you can mix and match with aircraft mods however you want. There are some missions included with CA. They are in the CA mission folder. They were built with the KA-50, Su-25T, and the A-10C as flyables depending on which one you look at. The great thing about CA is that you can add it's functionality to any mission. For instance, I've been tinkering with a Cold War 85 campaign idea. I'm using CA and FC3 aircraft in it.

How do I access that CA folder from the menu? There is no CA tab. Edit: nevermind I found the folder. Thanks.
