steve_giraffe Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Hi How much damage can your ground crew repair. I was shot up, mfd's went down - landed - crew acknowledge repair order then waiting.......does your aircraft get repaired back to new on the ground?
joey45 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 It should.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. steve_giraffe Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 How long does it take? Do you need to shut down or can i keep her running, canopy closed?
NC_Cyborg Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 In my experience both engines need to be shutdown. Once they have spooled down, you can request the ground crew for repair. A timer will countdown and once finished the groundcrew will start repairs. I normally start up the APU and turn on the generator before I stop my engines. This keeps my CDU from having to re-initilize. 1 'NC_Cyborg' [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic88701_1.gif[/sIGPIC]

When I re do the CDU and alignment after the ground repair sometimes my NAV systems have errors Make sure you get your APU all the way on and it's generator ON before switching OFF your engines OR switching OFF the engine generators. Tizid Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Actually you can tell the crew to turn on Ground Power instead of using the APU before shutting down the engines. Saves time. Please excuse my bad english.
Hamblue Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I usually turn on the apu and generator before landing. Just one less thing to do when I get on the ground. Also once the countdown timer starts you can refuel and reload. That way you are ready to go once the repair is completed. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Isnt the crew spamming you with "hey what are you doing" messages if you start to lift in the air while ground power connected? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Tizid Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Tell them to turn it off before taxi to runway Oo Please excuse my bad english.
wess24m Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 That's a helpful tip. When I re do the CDU and alignment after the ground repair sometimes my NAV systems have errors if its modeled correctly, the reason why you have errors in the navigation is because during initial cdu alignment its using nav location from your virtual data cartridge. you can manually input LL from the f10 map for your correct location.
Oznerol256 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Tell them to turn it off before taxi to runway Oo I didnt mean that. Once the timer reaches zero, your aircraft is lifted off the ground and repaired. After a few seconds it will be dropped down to the ground again. This process even causes takeoff and landing messages to appear when repairing in multiplayer. I once tried using the ground power while repairing. It caused the crew to shout "hey what are you doing" as my plane got lifted off the ground for repair. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
canadianbaken Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 If I remember right I think its 180 second countdown.

I only heard the ground crew shouting "hey what are you doing" one time my wheelbrakes were kind of buggy in campaign. I don't fly multiplayer much, so i can't make a comment to that. Please excuse my bad english.
