  1. Same here, is there a way to advance the campaign in the editor or something like that? Super immersive campaign btw, great stuff!
  2. Make sure to have Lots of speed
  3. This is true, but I just don't care if they shout?
  4. really? you must be: [ ] young [ ] naive more than one answer can be ticked. :megalol:
  5. you can use ground power to speed up the startup. 1 ask for ground power (inv to stby) 2 cdu on so it can boot and align 3 rest of the startup (you need the apu for the bleed air)
  6. you figure that ocules rift will be cheaper than tir? It looks cool though, it would be nice to be able to look over the shoulder to a target! Anyway, i have a tir 3 pro with vector expansion to spare, so if ur in europe i can mail it to ya for 25 euros + shipping cost if you want
  7. my humble advise: stick with the original view settings. With the neck adjustment you lose a LOT of zoom when you move forward to the instrument panel. I keep everything original as well as the profile in trackir and it works great. as for not having a track ir or likewise device s/o mentioned. I can not imagine a serious simmer (as we all must be to fly this sim) not having a head tracker.. it makes the experience SO MUCH better.
  8. unlinked, there is no need for the link lever, could be dangerous even in case of emergency.
  9. i think that if the friendlies start to move to the objective a bunch of new enemy armor spawns, what i do is first kill everything, RTB, rearm, go back, then tell the platoons to move while i circle the area around the objectives. When the new targets spawn i go in and killemallmuhahaha! Then wait for the mission succes message and rtb.
  10. good to finally be able to enjoy the a-10c. The graphics are amazing.
  11. Soooo, for your information (maybe s/o else is having the same irritations with his hd r6990 card): I just "upgraded" from a msi R6990 4 gb to an Asus GTX 670 DC2 top. Settings DCS a-10 on high but: heat blur off, water to low. 2x aa 512 res on the cockpit, mssaa on 2 monitors total resulution 3120x1050. running the mfd export on the second monitor and i have mfd's in cockpit off via the lua file line 31. just did a quick check instant action MASSIVE fps increase. With tgp on i saw fps from 45-75. Will do more thourough checks tonight, but since i've been looking for this specific kind of comparison myself for some time and with my setup, I thought I let you know the results so far. I have a 22 inch 1680*1050 for the main view and a 1440*900 for the mfd's. FYI since dcs world intro my fps on the R6990 were between 20-35 in quick action and in campaign it stutters and fps from 12-35. I will also be trying fullscreen mode with softth dll and see what that does, i'm now running in windowed mode. < edit: this option sucks for fps and messes up my game edit: Flew some more, no typo: indeed between 45-75 fps in single missions. In campaign with tgp on it never really drops below 35 fps (even when flying 10 ft off the ground in the middel of a town littered with aaa and sams) and averages about 45-50. Bottom line for me from the r6990 to this card: more than doubled my fps with more eyecandy on fot about half the cost of a 6990. Falcom BMS also looks better. not sure why, because i didnt change any settings there, looks like more or better aa to me, pictures are much sharper. Back in the nvidia camp. Rest of my system specs are in the sig.
  12. All my hardware runs fine with win 8, only track ir had a little work around, like 30 seconds of work. I have the warthog stick and throttle, Saitek rudder and cougar displays. Win 8 looks more slick and from what I can tell it's not hogging the ram so much. bootup to start screen in 7 seconds (ssd) is nice too. the metro isn't really my thing yet, but games like guildwars2 dcs etc go to normal desktop right away. getting to the normal desktop is really easy too. As for the start button missing..I hardly ever used it in win 7. Everybody knows [win] + [e] is the shortcut to explorer right? edited to add: besides, you all know you will want to install win 8 anyway soon if you are anything like me, just because it's the latest thing...
  13. @dimebug does your stick hit the dash if you put it fully forward? It has an aweful long way of travel with the extension
  14. also, go in high if there's aaa. like > 12k I was going in low and getting shot up a lot with the smerch hunt mission for instance. now it's easy. I use ccrp for the targets that are protected by aaa/sam and go in high (you want to change setting of the cbu bombs to "nose" so they fall w/o drag chute) I save the mavs for sam/aaa targets. Targeting from higher up is a bit more accurate too, try to set spi in area mode and as close to the base of the vehicle/target as possible.
  15. had the same issue, alsmost same system specs too. Cause: (i used the jackbauer profile, mouse wheel down would hang the whole sst software, had to unplug and plug back in and force close sst or reset pc.) the mfd can only hold 16 digits, any button description longer will hang sst when that btn is used. In Dcs i erased the button assigs for the saitek for boat switch and programmed the keyboard commands in SST. So mouse wheel down etc translates to R alt and arrow. This makes the description for the saitek button something like "unnamed 9" or whatever you put there. this is no longer more than 16 digits and now everything works well.
  16. x52 SST freeze problem with this profile the mouse wheel down (boat switch) is the cause for the SST freezing up. (button name too long for the mfd) Solution i came up with: in dcs a-10 delete the fields for the saitek buttons for boat switch. In SST assign the keyboard buttons that command boat to the mouse wheel. The mouse wheel functions will now be called "untitled 9" or whatever. And this fits in the mfd. Maybe you can change button names in SST easier, but i havent found out how.
