mmaruda Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 We probably all know there was a licensing issue that delayed the beta and thankfully Belsimtek got an official license from Bell-Textron. I know the deal is probably top secret and none of our business, but I was just curious - the Bell people had to see the sim, right? So did they like it? Were they in awe just as we are?
leafer Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The engineers who wish they are pilots probably do. The pilots just scoff at it and shoo away anyone who stray too close to the UH tires. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

molleh Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I was wondering the same thing recently. It'd be cool to know what they thought of it. :)
Wichid Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'd also like to know the heck you guys produced this UH-1 so quickly. It seems like amazing quality to announce and then release to beta so fast. VincentLaw Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 They have probably been working on it for longer than we know and just waited to announce anything about it until they had something good to announce. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
leafer Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 lol skids. :D Seriously, helicopter pilots are the nicest at airshows provided they don't fly anything fancy. You almost feel sorry for them because there's hardly any interest in them. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
cichlidfan Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'd also like to know the heck you guys produced this UH-1 so quickly. It seems like amazing quality to announce and then release to beta so fast. Fast is relative. ;) Our project manager, Alex "PilotMi8" Podvoyskiy, was recently a very lucky and no doubt one of very few ex-Russian military pilots who had an amazing opportunity to get behind the controls of an American Huey. Having spent so much time working on the DCS Huey model over the past couple of years, needless to say it was an experience he massively enjoyed and relishes. Here is his story of the experience. Sundowner.pl Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 UH tires?Funny thing, Global Helicopter Technology did wheeled landing gear for both Bell 412 and Bell 206: :smartass: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "If a place needs helicopters, it's probably not worth visiting." - Nick Lappos
BRooDJeRo Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 A good reason for having no wheels on a military Huey might be that there's less parts that can break, less maintenance which works together with technical flight-safety regulation law. Reduce cost.
3instein Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Fast is relative. ;) Relative to whom? ED?
