TonyStovepipe Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Hello all this little project I have started today. This will show my lack of skill but I will be happy with a basic setup where I can play some a10c :) It's mostly stuff I got for free and I am just seeing what connects together really lol. That old table came in handy for a good base and I got the car seat for £1 off ebay. The monitor will be used for MFDs and helios. Thanks for looking. 1
Mr_Burns Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Nice one, I think it looks really good and neat. Is that an exercise bike frame?
Cali Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Nice one, I think it looks really good and neat. Is that an exercise bike frame? If it is, then that is a smart move, it looks good so far! i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
WarthogSmurf Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Looks like any "pro" flight chair that you can buy. Really looks nice.

TonyStovepipe Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) Thank you all for the nice comments. The metal part is a old/free portable massage chair I have been keeping for a while trying to find out what to use it for lol. http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/229971/1156406/0/1228108485/MC002_Portable_Massage_Chair.jpg Small update I made the monitor more stable and is not leaning on the main metal body any more. What I doing now really is the main frame and seat bolted down so everything is safe and stable. Thank you. Edited May 25, 2013 by gothicghost
Mr_Burns Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 If it is, then that is a smart move, it looks good so far! Turns out it was a massage chair, pity there wasnt a way of encorporating that into the pit!
TonyStovepipe Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Just a little update I am bolted the frame now to the base and mounted the stick as well. Going to try now to make some sort of unit to place the throttle on. Cheers
TomDK Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 A nice start !! My old, sold, pit: http://bilder.einzelart.de/thumbnails.php?album=74&page=3

JG14_Smil Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Looking great! Exercise bike frames make great cockpits :)
TonyStovepipe Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Thanks. This how it looks at the moment and it's not what I had in mind when starting out and not very happy with it yet. Looks very big now with the table over it all but I did not feel the frame was safe to hold both monitors and the top one would of been way to high to be any good. The chair base will change later when I done the main setup. I am getting some more tools tomorrow so I can clean up the cut out parts. Anyone have any ideas what I should add or do with what you see? Thank you for any advice.
