Viperrm64 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Hi E.D. since latest update I've lost all comms, when I press the communication menu button nothing appears at all.I've tried it both on easy comm and without easy comm but to no avail. So far I have no comm menu in P-51D,SU-27 and F-15C. I am running the CA Audio Mod could this be the reason I really don't know. Can you help? Thanks Rob.
Tabris Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I'm not running any mods and I have the same problem. No comms menu at all, in any aircraft. Hopefully someone can help, the game is practically unplayable like this. It's not my war!
Buzzles Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Do you get the menu if you click the relevant cockpit button? (I had an issue once where DCS didn't respond to the keyboard input for the menu, but worked if I clicked on the push to talk button the P51-D's throttle. Worked fine after that). Have you also checked your control bindings? Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
Tabris Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I made sure I was hitting the right key, and tried rebinding it, no dice. The F-15 and Su-33 don't have clickable cockpits, but I suppose I can try that in the Akula. It really wouldn't solve my problem in the fighters though. Thanks It's not my war!
ENO Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Last update as in 127-128 or one of the mini updates? Did you redo your controls with 128? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Isegrim Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Reset your screen Resolution ingame to a lower one and than again to your Normal used resolution.... Worked for me. Edit: The Menu pops up but its just not inside the screen somehow. Hopefully this helps but for me this really worked. Edited July 1, 2014 by Isegrim "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
Tabris Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 The Menu pops up but its just not inside the screen somehow. that's got to be what's going on. I tried the fix you mentioned, it didn't help, and it's probably off-screen like you said even if that is the problem I'm still out of luck for fixing it. It's not my war!
Isegrim Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Goto: \user\*Besthumanonplanet*\SavedGames\DCS\Config for me this is \ISE\SavedGames\DCS\Config .... and delete the Options.lua >>>>> But as always for sure make a Backup before doing so. DCS has to create this file than again so maybe THIS helps. "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
Tabris Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) Nah, still nothing. thanks for trying for us, but I guess it can't be helped. maybe I'll try a full re-install. EDIT: I reinstalled the game from the ground up and for three or four missions it was working again. comms menu was fine. Then in the middle of a flight not only did it vanish, but my esc menu moved into the upper left corner of my screen so I could only see a quarter of it. I can conclude that it's my resolution screwing up like Isegrim said, and moving my windows around the screen to places I can't see them. I AM running two monitors, so I fear that may be the issue, but disabling my extra monitor never fixed the comms menu problem the first time. Also, what would cause this to screw up in the middle of a flight? This is a painfully stupid glitch/error/bug. I didn't pay for FC3 after putting it off this long only to have it raise this middle finger at me. Edited July 4, 2014 by Tabris It's not my war!
Twitch Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Same problem here, no comms menu at all. I'm not running any mods and I'm using single 2560x1080 monitor. Lowering screen resolution trick didn't help.
Twitch Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Same problem here, no comms menu at all. I'm not running any mods and I'm using single 2560x1080 monitor. Lowering screen resolution trick didn't help. Alt Gr + ' works for me and opens the comms menu (scandinavian keyboard)
rubblebeam Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Whats the difference between COMM communication menu and COMM push to talk? Ive never got the communication menu to work with \ but the rAlt + \ push to talk works. What's the difference between those two?q Good Grief
