Replacing Su-27 Pit with old Pit?

Recommended Posts

Yea I know it's a stupid thing to ask considering the new Su-27 cockpit in FC3 with all the 6dof looks good. but for some reason it lags really bad on my system. And it's only for the Su-27, all the other cockpits looks good including the new ones like the A-10C, Uh-1, P-51...etc. So my question is, is there a way to replace the new Su-27 pit with an old pit from FC1 or FC2.

I do admit I'm just running on my laptop but its a decent spec to run. Even with everything turned down to low, it still lags but only on the su-27 pit

I have i5 2.30 Ghz, 6 GB RAM, 1 GB Nvidia GeForce GT525M

running on win 7-64 bit

Using the old Su-27 pit should be quite a straightforward task, first of all you'll need to remove the 'Cockpit_SU-27.EDM' from

Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Shape

then it's a matter of making sure that your pilot viewpoint is set correctly, you may need to check to see how the SnapViewsDefault.lua

is configured for the 27 in earlier versions.

edit: Frostie has the right idea :)

Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Shape

rename

'Cockpit_SU-27.EDM'

to

'_Cockpit_SU-27.EDM'

Then goto and open with Notepad++

Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua

make back up of this lua file first

Goto line 1567

make this:

DEFAULT FC3

[13] = {--default view

viewAngle = 87.468338,--FOV

hAngle = 0.000000,

vAngle = -9.500000,

x_trans = 0.113927,

y_trans = -0.004946,

z_trans = 0.000000,

rollAngle = 0.000000,

look like this

FC2 VALUES

[13] = {--default view

viewAngle = 87.468338,--FOV

hAngle = 0.000000,

vAngle = -9.500000,

x_trans = 0.000000,

y_trans = 0.000000,

z_trans = 0.000000,

rollAngle = 0.000000,

x trans and y trans to zero.

Should work.

You may need to adjust ' limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.050000,0.080000}'

in server.lua to adjust size of the HUD display.

P.S

I haven't tested this i'm still using the new pit.

Has anyone else manage to fix the huge lag issue with the Su-27? It doesn't quite make sense all the other pits are fine, except for my beloved Flanker.

If I turn on the in-cockpit lights, it really lags (as if the normal pit doesn't lag enough). I assume it has something to do with the gauges or the reflection of the HUD

The only way to play it now is with the HUD only view but then you have the map and the radar view on the sides. I know I can turn off the map with "K", how do I get rid of the radar view or at least downsize it?

Same issue here and Im running a very high end system. My max FPS in a Su-27 is 30fps at best. I average around 25fps and when I turn lights on I get about 18-20 fps. I can run all other aircraft that have 6dof pits with 60+ fps no problems. Its such a let down for me given that I am a SU-27 guy by nature. :(

I hope 1.2.5 takes care of this issue because its been around for a while now.

Ask for help: FC2 values in the F-15C is the number?

Have not had a chance to try 1.2.5 yet but has it by chance fixed the low SU-27 cockpit FPS issue?
