GhostRider357 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Hello once again. For some odd reason, the game just crashes randomly while playing in multiplayer. Sometimes, you just get into your aircraft, then crash. Sometimes, you're lucky enough to take off however then a crash follows. I will put logs here as well.If you need more info, ask. # -------------- 20130826-035331 -------------- D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\x86\WorldGeneral.dll # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 6A891834 01:00000834 # # EAX = 00000000 # EBX = 00000000 # ECX = 4FD001D4 # EDX = 00000001 # ESI = 002CF094 # EDI = 00A9C911 # CS:EIP = 001B:6A891834 # SS:ESP = 0023:002CEF70 EBP = 00000000 # DS = 0023 ES = 0023 FS = 003B GS = 0000 # Flags = 00210206

GhostRider357 Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 It just crashes. Speed is set on LAN. System specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.4 GHz EVGA GTX 660 Ti 4 GB DDR2 RAM 1.64 TB (2x HDD) I know it's on the low end, but it runs DCS on medium settings quite fine.

zaelu Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) I also confirm this random unexpected crash in multiplayer. I host for my friends and they just CTD while flying Su25T or P51. I as host have no such problems. This never happen before 1.2.5. The PCs invoved don't need "tweaks"... they are just I5-I7, 8GB + good GFX cards. Internet is mostly fiber optics (Romania) or adsl in UK (:P) Edited August 26, 2013 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
ED Team NineLine Posted August 26, 2013 ED Team Posted August 26, 2013 If they are having issues, have them start a new thread and try and include any info that might be important, specs, .CRASH logs, what they were doing at the time, etc... I have to be able to try and reproduce (or give steps to reproduce) to best report it. I also confirm this random unexpected crash in multiplayer. ED Team NineLine Posted August 26, 2013 ED Team Posted August 26, 2013 Can you make sure all your drivers and such are current, you dont have any non essential programs running in the background that might cause issues. I am leaning towards your system skirting too close to the bottom of the curve, but lets see what we can figure out... Used it last time when I couldn't even play the sim. So yes, I do have it. zaelu Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Hello SiThSpAwN Here is one crashlog from one friend. He was in SU25T... crashed on takeoff and then was just F2 on me (also in Su25T on same runway taking off) and CTD. I wait for others to send me their crashlogs and post them.DCS-20130822-180435.zip [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
GhostRider357 Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Well, I have only the A-10C module, but I fly the SU-25T most frequently. Sometimes, the game crashes right when you're loading into the cockpit, sometimes, you're lucky to try to start up, and sometimes (the most frustrating), when you already took off and about to engage, then it crashes all the way from the multiplayer into the main menu.
ED Team NineLine Posted August 26, 2013 ED Team Posted August 26, 2013 Always multi-player? Different servers? Always the same server? You are using the Steam version correct? Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
GhostRider357 Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Different servers, always multiplayer, Steam and off-Steam version alike.

ED Team NineLine Posted August 26, 2013 ED Team Posted August 26, 2013 Might be worth trying, your system is quite low, and I have seen my system use up to 5 gigs while playing DCS (not all spent on DCS but yeah) so it could be you are just running out of memory... As I said as well, try shutting down anything else you dont need running at the time, browser, etc... you would be surprised how much crap can be running and when you are low on resources every little bit helps. ED Team NineLine Posted August 26, 2013 ED Team Posted August 26, 2013 Just talking with a Dev and he made mention that one of the limitations with a 32bit OS is that it can really only handle smaller missions, with larger (more units) you could be running into issues. Its possible that the online missions you are trying are large enough to be causing you issues. If you can experiment offline a little you could try a small mission, small amount of units, and then find yourself a mission with a large amount of units and see how your performance varies and perhaps see if you get crashes offline as well. GhostRider357 Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Here it is. Last 2 is the crash itself, therefore no data. Data is in bytes. The biggest input is at 2 GB's, which seems ok. Not sure how much Win 7 or steam are using though. 29:36.9 1811181568 29:37.7 1814028288 29:38.7 1817231360 29:39.7 1818951680 29:40.7 1706594304 29:41.7 1709756416 29:42.7 1716510720 29:43.7 1769730048 29:44.7 1899294720 29:45.7 2031853568 29:46.7 2093264896 29:47.7 2093264896 29:48.7 2093375488 29:49.7 2093375488 29:50.7 2093375488 29:51.7 2093375488 29:52.7 2093375488 29:53.7 2093375488 29:54.7 2093375488 29:55.7 2093375488 29:56.7 2093375488 29:57.7 2093375488 29:58.7 2075103232 29:59.7 30:00.7
ED Team NineLine Posted August 27, 2013 ED Team Posted August 27, 2013 Nope, that seems ok, do you know what mission it was you were playing, was it quite complex? A lot of ground units, etc... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
GhostRider357 Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 No, a pretty simple mission with a low number of units. I received some info that CA module is to blame for most of the crashes (when someone sets a path, it kicks people or crashes). Could be the problem...
ED Team NineLine Posted August 27, 2013 ED Team Posted August 27, 2013 Usually its the person setting the path, I havent heard of it kicking anyone else. GhostRider357 Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 I can confirm that it is the CA module that causes the crashes, with the ground commander disabled, I played an even bigger mission with no crash.

Donglr Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I received some info that CA module is to blame for most of the crashes (when someone sets a path, it kicks people or crashes). Could be the problem... I'm one of the lucky ones: set a path, right click, game crash! Although in my experience it was just me who crashed, not the entire server. But still, pathetic. CA worked better for me some versions earlier and it still does if I load a map and play it single player. But that can hardly be the purpose of CA....
