Is it me or are the wheel brakes working better with 1.2.6?

I haven't played the new patch yet, but by this do you mean that Anti-Skid is working better?

Press Ctrl-Enter -> Accelerate to some speed like 50 knots -> depress maximum braking and observe if the antiskid is flipping out turning the brakes on and off. If this has changed... well damn.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Just seems like speed decreases faster to me.

:) Why not go to somewhere like Sochi-Adler (there are lots of 'markers' alongside the runway) and using a set load see where you stop from 100 knots. Then get someone else to do exactly the same, (except prior to upgrading to latest software) and compare stopping point.

It might be your braking technique has just improved :D

I havnt tested it but maybe your remaining fuel, rounds and bombs can influence this quite a bit. Try landing bingo fuel and no weapons then try full loaded and see if there is a difference. A couple games ago some bloke hit me with an AIM-9 and as I went to land to repair, My breaks were totally ****ed and I ended up off the runway :) That might be new since thats never happened to me before.

Yeah that's it, My breaking technique improved :D

Maybe I'm pushing the pedals to the floor a bit harder.

In my experience this would lead to worse braking. :music_whistling:

Or maybe you didn't notice the wind? Though after 2 months without playing, I find the A10 was braking faster indeed, but not sure...
