Hi Gang,

I posted this in the bugs and problems section but I'm not sure it is the right spot so I am reposting it here.

I just upgraded to 1.2.6. Now whenever I select a different view using the F-1 thru F-12 keys the game immediately stops working. I get the default windows is searching for a solution pop up. It also happens when using the button I have mapped for views on my HOTAS. (I forget what its official name is but it is the one directly under the pickle button.) However if I fly into the ground (on purpose of course) and re-spawn everything works normally. I went as far as remapping the buttons, with no effect. I also tossed the old version and loaded up a fresh version but to no avail. If the “F” keys are used in conjunction as comm responses the game works as advertised. I was not having any problems until this upgrade. Anyone else seen this with 1.2.6?

My computer specs:

intel core i7

cpu870 @2.93Ghz 2.93 GHz

8GB ram

64 bit OS

invidia Geforce 650GTI 2GB ram

Thanks,

It was already unclicked. Just for giggles I clicked it on and ..well remind me not to do that again. So I re-unclicked it and it still crashes as before.

Yes, I have this problem too.

In the tutorials I can go to outside view, in a SU-25T I can go to outside view, I can go to outside view by Ejecting, but in flight, pressing F2 causes an instant crash and un-saveable debriefing.

Any ideas?

Now the game is crashing during all mission loading. I am going to try a COMPLETE reinstall of everything. A-10C, P-51D, SU25T, World. Anything that is 1.2.6 I'll let the forum how it goes.

Has to be a key mapping issue. "Hypothesis" of course but can't think of any other causative factor here other than hard coding error.

Have you guys tried renaming the saved games folder and allowing the game to rebuild it? You can then transplant custom settings back into that new folder.

I have tried remapping the keys with no effect. I also reinstalled everything from scratch still no luck. It was working perfectly until 1.2.6 showed up. I guess the object lesson is to not "upgrade" Invidia also released a new upgrade this afternoon. That had no effect on the problem also. Hopefully there is a patch coming out soon. In the meantime I loaded a seperate copy of version 1.1.1. which seems to be working so far. I never had a problem until now.

-Thanks Guys..

It was solved in my case when I joined a multiplayer server; this somehow changed the game settings to allow outside views.

As far as I know, it unchecked the "game flight mode" and changed game controls to sim controls (I had to remap almost everything on my controller).

I hope this helps....

It has helped a huge amount!! The game is now loading and I can change views without crashing. I still have to get the mapping fully funcitional (i.e changing weapons and getting the gunsite to display) but as long as I leave "game avionics mode" in the gameplay options section UNCHECKED just about everything else is loading/working.

Thanks for setting me on the path to recovery!
