Winfield_Gold Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I would suspect that you are looking for the curvature settings in options | controls | select aircraft sim | select axis |then X or Y Axis | then Tune. You can set the amount of saturation and input the joystick has to the aircraft. Caution: This does change the dynamics and flight characteristics of the aircraft so the rule of thumb is as little adjustment as you can handle. As you get more comfortable with the feel of the aircraft adjust the curvatures back to center ever so slowly without loose the stability of your formation flying. The tanker is a good solid pilot to formation fly at 5-10 ft off the wing as he will be the most stable. if you can hold pattern with him at 5-10 through out one rotation then your curvature are set correctly. thanks 76th Capt. Falcon. Or have the dead zone set between 15 and 20% helps as well. I had a play with the curvature but some joysticks are quite sensitive like the warthog, so I have adjusted the dead zone to suit my prefrence. Now hitting the tanker is far easier for nozzle contact

ENO Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Makes sense that the behaviour of a fully loaded A10 is not really good at about 186 kias, but why would you fly a fully loaded A10... You'll have this "sluggish" performance at ME's standard tanker speed and have a rather sluggish performance at missile evasion Thanks for the clarification... "Sluggish" performance with the tanker but only rather-sluggish while evading anti aircraft missiles. Fully loaded in this instance -since you seem quite enthusiastic about trying to pick fly poop out of pepper- was meant to describe an A-10 with all mission ordinance still attached and presumably low on fuel since it is, after all, approaching a tanker. I also concluded my original post by stating if a person can't catch a tanker at 210-215, they should evaluate how much ordinance they are in fact bringing with them... So I'm not sure if your elaboration was necessary. Next time just stop at "it makes sense." logion Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Ok some good news Wag responding to Steam Community that Any news on this? I found the thread you were referring to on the steams forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/810938811062004747/. But I haven't found any other news yet.
logion Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 One additional question: is it possible to modify the curvature of the pitch and roll axis's dynamically while in game (via e.g. some kind of hotkey)? I would like to increase the curvature during refueling (i.e. so that I can control the plane more precisely) and then reset to the default curvature once refueling is completed. Considering DCS requires you to exit the game in order to change settings, this wouldn't be straightforward; but maybe a mod might accomplish this? Alternatively, does the A10 have some kind of system modeled in-game to make the plane less responsive to stick inputs (i.e. more precise for small corrections)?
