Again - Deployment Campaign

Hi Guys,

 

I really struggle with Mission 8 :mad: This is the Mission where you have to take out a Rebel Base deep in the Mountains. I goes very well until two enemy Hinds show up. I mean how to deal with them?! I try to attack them with Vikhrs (A/A Mode) but I hardly hit them..and when I hit them, they take no damage:noexpression:. Guns..no chance..at least for me...My friendly CAP Flight completly ignors them..the SU-27 return to Base when they have shot down the enemy SU-25..I am on the Point where I just tell my entire Flight to Attack them (Attack Bandits) when the Mi-24 show up, but my 3 Wingman get shot down very quickly..then the 2 Hinds hunt for me and I am down..really no clue:(

 

Any Tips?!:)

Helo damage models are a little broken—full-fidelity choppers crumble when hit by pretty much any missile, but other helos take an absurd number of Vikhrs to drop.

I also had a world of difficulty completing that mission for BS1, never ended up passing it and put down BS1 because of RL. Recently got BS2 and I was hoping there were some improvements (or it was just easier to pass).

lol, it would seem so.

 

If I recall, my attempts at firing Vikhrs at the hinds would always miss. Though, I think it's possible to manually fire the Vikhrs and guide it at the target.

 

If you do manage to pass it, let me know what you ended up doing, because I'll be on that mission in a few days.

What I did was fly over the Mountain ridge, head toward the target waypoint where you hold before the target. This triggers the choppers, keep cycling F2 until you see the hinds and verify they are activated. As soon as they are activated, turn back toward the Mountain ridge but before you get to it, you will see on your left a small valley that you can hide in. It only allows you to fly into it approx 300mtrs but you will be out of site from the hinds.

 

The hinds will fly up the main valley where the hold waypoint is and if they do not detect you or see you they will turn 180 degrees head back over the target and keep on flying. Use Time Compression if you want to speed up this process. Once they are approx 1Km away from the target you can consider yourself cleared hot as the 2 hinds will not attempt to turn back and shoot you down

 

This is the only way I found after many countless attempts and breaking the engines trying to fly over the ridge line toward the target.

I completed this mission by hiding from the choppers behind the mountain. THe biggest problems with the choppers is getting a solid lock on them with Shkval. By the time you finally DO get a lock they are in firing range themselves. Hide is my advice :)

Na..after countless attempts on shooting them down..I did not even try that anymore...:megalol:
