If I were changing my OS, I would plan on reinstalling everything on the machine (a completely clean rebuild). Deactivate your DCS modules before you do anything else, then you will not use up another activation. Not always, depends on how you purchased and exactly what you purchased. There are several retail versions of windows that contain both 32 and 64 bit.
