[DBS]TH0R
#1 Thicker prop, as visible in screens below: Current in-game prop, with various pitch settings... On the ground with pitch fully forward On the ground with pitch fully back (rapid change, before the governor can react) In flight, 2700 RPM, 50" MP Compared with some shots from YT videos: Take off In-flight ^^ Not just the thickness, but the shape is off as well IMO. Should be thinner towards the maximum propeller radius. #2 Engine exhaust / smoke Are engine exhaust flames really visible during daylight? I'd love to see some of these flames licking out instead (due to over-priming??): #3 Packard Merlin sound P8Z68 | 2500k @ 4.5 | GTX 1080Ti | 2x8 GB @ 1600 | TM Hog (extended 7cm) & MFG Crosswind (S/N 007) | TIR v5 WWII bomber formations | DCS P-51D: [TEST] TO distance / gross weight / temperature

[DBS]TH0R
Sounds promising. [DBS]TH0R
The above two images in my first post are off. After spending more with with DCS: P-51D, this is what the prop looks like 90% of the time throughout various power regimes / maneuvers / speed: For me, the DCS P-51D is awesome, but is missing that immersion factor. After a while it feels like what would best be described as a "perfectly calculated simulator without a soul". - No engine smoke on startup. - Engine sounds no where near the real thing. - Prop animation almost equal to IL21946 when viewed from 3/9 OC. Please bridge this gap and cement this title as a second to none virtual P-51. Buzzles
- Engine sounds no where near the real thing. Interesting that you say that, because I was under the impression ED took a trip to England and recorded TFC's TF-51. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here! [DBS]TH0R
I was too. Yet, I am not hearing what I'd like to. :) Not sure if we're allowed to post it here, just search YT for the A2A P-51 videos, namely "P51D Mustang Intro and Familiarisation". Should be on the top of the list - also recorded from the real thing. Tucano_uy
The prop used to look different from the side depending on the RPM. There was even a pre-release video showing that. Last time I checked, the difference was not noticeable.

[DBS]TH0R
How prop thickness and shape should look like when viewed from a side: P8Z68 | 2500k @ 4.5 | GTX 1080Ti | 2x8 GB @ 1600 | TM Hog (extended 7cm) & MFG Crosswind (S/N 007) | TIR v5 WWII bomber formations | DCS P-51D: [TEST] TO distance / gross weight / temperature
313_Nevo
I don't know if it is particularly well-chosen to compare the camera shots with something we see in the game or real life related specially to propellers. Good example is the propeller effect seen e.g. on this vid. It will be silly to ask A2A to change their FSX C172 propeller effect to match this vid. 1uFlReovvnI T}{OR, did you see the 51 prop on some airshow? Does it look like the same as on the pictures you posted?
[DBS]TH0R
You have a point, but the problem is a bit more complex than that.
