Gloom Demon Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 When i start the freeflight from Sukhumi mission my Mi-8 for some reason starts lifting of all by itself. My throttle is at idle and i do not touch the controls. To alleviate this I increase the throttle a bit and then pull it back down - the chopper falls back on the strip and stays there. Could it be that I have something wrong with my controls or is that a common bug? dahui Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 how does the controls indicator on the top-right position looks like on the Collective Axis on the beginning?
iFoxRomeo Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Gloom Demon, check that Options->Misc.->Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start. is set off. Fox Spoiler PC Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080ti, 64GB RAM, Oculus Quest 3
Gloom Demon Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 iFoxRomeo That helped, but now if i fly a mission with the chopper in the air - it falls to the ground without the collective being set on start. Guess I'll have to check that HOTAS depending on the type of mission I fly... iFoxRomeo Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 So just position your collective stick to the middle position, when you start in the air. Fox Spoiler PC Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080ti, 64GB RAM, Oculus Quest 3
lorenzoj Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I'm not the biggest fan of missions that start in air but I have noticed that it seems to help initial stability to exit and restart almost immediately. Got in the habit of placing collective about half power to begin then immediately lowering and then pulling back up after mission starts. Would still rather start on ground at idle.
