stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 http://postimg.org/image/i6xbyns1h/full/ The text is really small and barely readable from my 1600x900 rez. Also its very dimm. I was watching this video and I was able to read his hud easily, even at as low as 480p. Can someone guide me through how to fix this issue.
sobek Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Tried playing with the intensity setting in the pit? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 How do I do that? I'm new to the game. Hitting up the manual real soon.
sobek Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Bottom right on the up front controller. Good idea on the manual part... Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 Ok, it seems its already at max. I managed to make it dim out but the most intense is what id shown here. http://postimg.org/image/3o08xtupt/full/
stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 http://postimg.org/image/qb4iuihdj/full/ Enable 2x aa. Still very hard to read numbers. Is there a way to make them bigger?
PeterP Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 . Did you really read the first post?... Short: This is a general "problem" of DCS-World with HDR-ON. ... ...and on another note - I find it also somewhat realistic - as you can't cast shadows with light. - and it's a normal problem also for when you sit in front of the real thing. ...even if I wish it would be a little less sometimes - but this is hard - if not impossible - to achieve in DCS with the current "HDR" rendering and change big chunks of the whole ambient light shaders to make it 'realistic'- and if you would - I bet there would be a big performance drop . EDIT: What also helps to higher the HUD Visibility : Set your 'digital vibrance higher in your GPU-colour' profile and/or edit : \DCS World\Config\Effects\PostEffects\hdr.lua line #6,7,8 and set the overall colour-shift to "1" - so the Green is less shifted to the Blue anymore and becomes a little clearer. Or only higher the value for 'G' (= Green) - so the Greens get more dominant and is better visible. ...and also use the 'normal' -HDR setting. Maybe you also want to use this little edit/MOD: Big HUD Font for A-10C

sobek Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Under some backlight conditions, the HUD is fairly hard to read. This is nothing out of the ordinary and happens IRL as well. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 I don't think its my eyes when I can clearly see the HUD of another person. It's definitely my eyes when I can see their HUD clear at a lower resolution compared to the full rez of my screen.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 27, 2013 ED Team Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) What type of screen are you using out of interest edit also do you have the same issue if you flick the day / night toggle Edited September 27, 2013 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Night Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'd suggest getting a 1080p display, this sim needs as many pixels as you can throw at it. Mainly though, you're zoomed out. I always zoom in a bit. It's simply not realistic to display such a complicated and realistically modeled cockpit in a 1600x900 display, so the only fix is to zoom in a bit. Also, it seems like your Track IR is sitting a bit low, might want to readjust it. stadnitchii Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 Same as they eye issue. It cant be my screen when I can see it fine through my screen. It's dimmed out for some reason.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 27, 2013 ED Team Posted September 27, 2013 I see my HUD just fine and I am running a projector at 1024x768 :) I think head position has a lot to do with it, I will reset my TrackIR at the beginning of a session by leaning back a little so when I sit naturally my head ingame is slightly forward. -Mop- Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Switch off HDR... this will help to make the HUD more readable, but makes makes the game less nice
