BabyJail Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 That would not be a challenge, but who said war had anything to do with fairness? :D Firstly I will need to learn how to fly my plane of choice anyways..
Royraiden Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 The key to the success of the introduction of the ME-262 is the ammount. Surely they were superior in speed and armament but a limit available jets on multi player scenarios while realistic would sort of balance out the final outcome.Remember were are not aiming at simple plane A vs plane B but rather an air war with ground targets, bombers, escorts and so on.Another key aspect about that particular plane that I would like to see modeled would be the jet engines reliability. DerHesse70 Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 This is going to be a Simulation. Wikipedia says: "Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system" balance =/= realism, therefore I suspect the 262 is going to be the fearsome and revolutionary plane that it really was. Plus, challenges make you feel AWESOME when you overcome them! :joystick: The problem is the possibility that everybody on a server can jump into a 262. So there are fights of ten 262 against ten mustangs. Is this realism?

That will be up to the individual server mission designers to sort out what amounts work best to keep people coming back. In multiplayer servers, it's been my experience that unlimited planesets tend to be a server killer because everyone ends up flying the best performing aircraft that the side has available and nothing else. This makes the server boring quickly and the guests move on to other servers. It takes a lot of trial and error to truely figure out what works and what dosen't work. For WWII most sim pilots prefer mid to late war time period scenarios although there is a vocal minority that likes early war crap planes. I will admit, crap planes are fun for a change of pace though.:joystick: Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"
Royraiden Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Just to clarify,, I meant to say that indeed on multiplayer the 262 needs to be limited. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Vampyre Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Oh, I would absolutely throw my money at RRG if they made a DCS quality P-40 or F4F-3! I consider those planes to be mid war fighters. Early war planes like the I-153, PZL-11 and P-26 are crap planes. They can be a real hoot and hollar when you get them into huge furballs. Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"
Tvrdi Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 from the interview: RPS: Will hedge-hopping DCS WWII pilots need to worry about vegetation collisions? Ilya: My long and painful experience with past projects forces me to add a warning here that all features are subject to change and so on and so forth. And, the answer is yes.
TwoLate Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Just to clarify,, I meant to say that indeed on multiplayer the 262 needs to be limited. I wonder if that would go like in Battlefield trying to get a chopper. Mission builder has only two 262. So you go to spectator wait for it to crash and jump in that slot. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
