How to release drop-tanks?

What is the keyboard key press(es) to release the P-51D drop tanks if carrying them?

 

I browsed through the Options list and have searched the forums here, no luck.

 

Is there an in-cockpit switch to activate using my mouse?

Being attached to the bomb positions, they're jettisoned exactly like bombs (but without the need to arm them first ;))

You can use the bomb salvo levers as well, I believe.

I didn't think the game had drop tanks! I have not ever seen an option to load them.

I Think you need to modify the aircraft loadout in the mission editor for Single Player missions and in Multiplayer you load them by way of the ground crew.

If the game per server allows it, Left Alt + 'Apostrophe key, should bring up the weapons / fuel tank pre-load possibilities.

TRIVIA: Anyone know the US Fighter group that went most of the war with the guns/bomb button arrangement opposite of the US standard? Theirs was bomb/drop tank release with the trigger and guns operated by pressing the "tit" on top of the stick.

 

I wonder the approximate number of holy shit moments that occurred when new pilots trained in the states pressed the button on top of the stick to release external tanks and got a fiery six M2 salute.

Even though Wiki does claim they were the top scoring group (701) the 4th FG destroyed 1,016 aircraft in Europe. Interesting.
