Trainzak Posted October 4, 2013 Share Posted October 4, 2013 Still having crashes in DCSW 1.2.6.18651. The last crash was when flying online with F-15C. After 10 mins of peaceful flight, I got very familiar "DCS has stopped working" window with DCS.exe as faulty module. It still seems that memory leaks aren't fixed (and really, is someone even trying to fix it?). Note that the updated minimum system specs is 4 GB of RAM, which should guarantee even smooth network play. If it helps, there is the crash log: # -------------- 20131004-204113 -------------- # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00000000 00:00000000 00000000 00000000 0000:00000000 00000000 0027EF60 0000:00000000 ED2EBAA3 0027F000 0000:00000000 ?CreateLight@woMissile@@IEAAXXZ()+93 ED2ECD12 0027F0D0 0000:00000000 ?setMissile@woMissile@@UEAAXIIAEBVVector@E3@@VwsType@@0AEBVcPosition@@HAEBV?$HeapVector@UDynamicParam@Graphics@@@@_N@Z()+5A2 ED2C72C2 0027F130 0000:00000000 ?setMissile@wRocket@@UEAAXIIAEBVVector@E3@@VwsType@@0AEBVcPosition@@HAEBV?$HeapVector@UDynamicParam@Graphics@@@@_N@Z()+62 ED2C866A 0027F210 0000:00000000 ?Create@wRocket@@SAIIIAEBVVector@E3@@VwsType@@AEBV?$basic_string@DU?$char_traits@D@std@@V?$allocator@D@ed@@@std@@0AEBVcPosition@@HIAEBV?$HeapVector@UDynamicParam@Graphics@@@@_N@Z()+13A 3FE44F04 0027F390 0000:00000000 3FE251E1 0027F3E0 0000:00000000 3FE5826E 0027F4C0 0000:00000000 EEB4E74D 0027F500 0000:00000000 ??1Reader@Mail@@UEAA@XZ()+23D ECFC98FE 0027F570 0000:00000000 ECFC99D1 0027F5C0 0000:00000000 ECFC37AE 0027F5F0 0000:00000000 ECFD6714 0027F660 0000:00000000 ECFEF613 0027F690 0000:00000000 ED004063 0027F6C0 0000:00000000 3FEEA5A5 0027F720 0000:00000000 3FF00B24 0027F750 0000:00000000 3FF009FB 0027F780 0000:00000000 3FF949D8 0027F7F0 0000:00000000 3FF95FD9 0027FDF0 0000:00000000 3FF98C3B 0027FEA0 0000:00000000 77A2652D 0027FED0 0001:0001552D C:\Windows\system32\kernel32.dll BaseThreadInitThunk()+D 77C5C521 0027FF20 0001:0002B521 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll RtlUserThreadStart()+21 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2800 MHz overclocked @ 3400 MHz A-DATA Extreme DDR2 800 MHz 6 GB GIGABYTE nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB, overclocked 650/1600/950 MHz Windows 7 x64 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kuky Posted October 5, 2013 Share Posted October 5, 2013 It would be helpful to know exactly what happened in the mission when crash occurred, then get it to replicate it... this is only way to get devs to know what to fix... but we know this is sometimes very hard to find out. For example, last Testing MP session we found if someone goes for belly landing and explodes all clients get crash... if it was a memory leak there should be error message that windows has run out of memory, if you didn't get it its not likely that this crash was due to memory leak. No longer active in DCS... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Trainzak Posted October 5, 2013 Author Share Posted October 5, 2013 For example, last Testing MP session we found if someone goes for belly landing and explodes all clients get crash... Well, that's a really strange bug :) All I can say that this and all of my previous crashes seemed to happen completely randomly, not after some particular action... However I'm still suspicious about low amount of RAM - because DCS use 95% of available RAM, then ussually crash occurs... And people with 16 GB of RAM don't have crashes at all... ED Team NineLine Posted October 7, 2013 ED Team Share Posted October 7, 2013 Well, that's a really strange bug :) All I can say that this and all of my previous crashes seemed to happen completely randomly, not after some particular action... However I'm still suspicious about low amount of RAM - because DCS use 95% of available RAM, then ussually crash occurs... And people with 16 GB of RAM don't have crashes at all... I also run 6gb of RAM, as its not the min spec for RAM, its wise to make sure you dont have anything else running that might be using your memory, also verify your virtual ram settings as well... I havent had any crashes, but my RAM does run up around the mid 80% range for the system. BulldogA10 Posted December 12, 2013 Share Posted December 12, 2013 I am getting the error message that windows run out of memory. I have 8GB og ram on X64 system. What should the virtual ram be set to? I am running the game on a SSD hard drive. Before the latest update I never had this problem. This happens when running single player DCS-A10C. Stay Sharp.
