FighterPilot27 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I recently got DCS A-10 and I need all the patches starting with 1.1.1.0 to 1.1.1.1 and if they have 1.1.2.0 yet. But when I download 1.1.1.0 it starts up and then right before it starts to install, it will say put in Disk one or find file through "browse" folder. Any help on what the heck to do. when I click the folder it is in it just says can't find location? Please help... Thanks

You need DCS World from here (five files): http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ and the A-10 module from here (one file): http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/ Put them all in one folder then run the DCS World executable. Do not run DCS World when the installation completes (uncheck the check box). Then run the A-10 executable. This time let DCS World run and if/when it wants to update, let it. EDIT: You will be prompted for your A-10 key when you start a mission for the first time. luckybob9 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Put them all in one folder then run the DCS World executable. Just emphasizing the part about putting the setup and .bin files in their own isolated folder. FighterPilot27 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 The fifth file out of the DCS world is not able to download for some reason. it sends me to an error internet page and my internet is fine. Also the A-10C download is doing the same but I already have the game downloaded so why would I do it again?
FighterPilot27 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 It is all downloaded into its own folder. Now I start the DCS a-10 new download correct and the DCS world will load automatically?

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. FighterPilot27 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Well should I install DCS A-10 first or DCS World and then should I open DCS A-10 first or DCS World first after they both are installed?

There will be no A-10 to open. DCS World is the 'game'. The A-10 is DLC. FighterPilot27 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 I hope I can get this all down. I should at least. Thanks for the quick replies.
bart Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) I went down the same route as you when I first got this great sim. I started with the disc version which was really out of date and was the stand alone version.....ie not DCS World. But the great thing with this is you only buy it once. I used the same key that I got with the disk version to get DCS World and the A10C module working and got the latest version at the same time. The devs also are improving and adding to it all the time so you will get the latest most up to date version as soon as it's available.....all for the initial cost of your original version. It's a great idea which works brilliantly. Here's what I've done.....right or wrong it works!! I downloaded all 4 BIN files for DCS World 1.2.6 and the 1 Application file. Made a folder on the desktop and called it "DCS World" I then cut and pasted all the files from the downloads file in windows to the DCS World file on the desktop. I did the same for the A10C Module but cut and pasted this in a separate folder on the desktop called "A1OC v 1.2.6" The go back to your DCS World folder and open it. Double click on the Application file and this will load DCS World on to your computer but don't run it when completed. Go to the A10C folder and open it. Double click on the A10C Application file (should be only one file in this folder anyway) and this will load the A10C module into the mods folder of DCS world. That's it.....time to blow stuff up!!!
