Let me preface this thread with the following statement: THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT SOFTWARE PIRACY!!!

There. With that out of the way, let me begin: My windows 7 installation finally bit the dust yesterday. Couldn't repair, couldn't re-upgrade to windows 7. I had to reinstall from scratch. Most everything is backed up, but because I didn't restore my registry (because I fear it'll kill windows again), DCS doesn't think my modules are activated. I can burn an activation on them, but I'd rather not, and my BS1 DVD is in storage a hundred-some miles away.

Is there any way to copy the relevant information from my backup of my previous install so that DCS is activated again? Does anyone know the relevant keys?

Thanks much, folks =)

You would need access to the old registry, export the old registry strings/values to a .reg file, and then import them to your current active registry.

Let us know. Burning one activation is no biggy though.

Nothing you can do about BS1 though, not without the key code anyway.

I have all key codes in a non-viewable file on my backup disk, I just add as I go to a txt. file steam included although it is a bit redundant in your case for future problems it should at least be considered.

Yeah, I should have written down my BS1 key. The difficulty I'm having right now is locating the starforce stuff on the old drive. I wish it wasn't such a complete pain in the ass to use software that I've paid for multiple times. I know it's all been said before, but having to deal with the shitty DRM is the last thing I need after a complete corruption of my system drive.
