Another good sci-fi flick with creepy atmosphere that, unfortunately, received 1 1/2 star on Rottentomatoes. :( Also, don't let the trailer put you off as it is the worst trailer I've seen to date. The movie itself is quite suspenseful that kept me wondering what the H is going to happen next?

Well, it's definitely closer to Resident Evil than Europa Report or Cargo To me SF barely got any chance in this film, engulfed with a ton of top tier cliches. Three-point landings with delayed stare straigh from manga, an amazon, creatures with a strong urge to taunt towards camera... It's all there.

But it's maybe just me. After all I'm a guy who's willing to discard a film just because the three-point landing.

Thanks for the link, Bucic. I will definitely check out Cargo.

I rather enjoy Pandorum even with all the physics defining cliche. I'm a sucker for anything set in space or space ships. :D Gattaca is another good sci-fi movie and is written and filmed well before the three-point landing was invented. :P

Rather - before Hollywood started to employ the move extensively :) Gattaca, Equilibrium... yup, the right stuff.

I'm still trying to find where to watch Cargo with proper Eng sub. It appears I need to order a few more movies for our DVD library at work. :D

What's a three point landing?

Pandorum was decent enough, I just couldn't get into Equilibrium although I liked the Orwellian "Sense Offenders" but the production values were pretty low and the fight scenes didn't make sense to me.

Three point landing is the bull cliche taken from manga where the character falls, lands and supports himself so it looks like the runners initial position, looking down, even if there's a horde of enemies just around him, plus an awkward pause. Camera at his 2/11 o'clock. To add to the awkwardness the whole thing is done in two shots, the second being the character jumping to the final position from a chair :) The final element is I use it as a reliable movie c*p indicator.
