F-15s are available for Israel and USA. Put one country in blue coalition, the other in red :)

go into your install folder / scripts / database and then into db_countries.lua. You'll need notepad ++

Scroll down and you'll see all the aircraft currently available to all countries. Find an F-15C and put it on a country currently in the red coalition.

Just remember, it'll change back with each repair / update.

You can do what Eno suggested, or you can attempt surgery on the mission itself - this means you have to open the mission file (the .miz is a zip file, so just open it with 7zip or whatever) and edit the mission file inside with notepad++. Unfortunately I don't remember the mission structure so I can't give you instructions.

Cool, Thank you! Is there any way to do it on an exsisting map?

It would be nice if ED could implement something like this in the future as Nevada are released, since almost every air-combat training are between the same fighter system and country.

A such feature to choose RED and BLUE on a group level - and not entirely on a country level. This way we could have an american squadron acting as RED Force against another US squadron being BLUE Force. If ED want to produce a realistic simulator capable of simulating modern air combat and training - they should implement it (someday).

But I´m no coder so I have no clue if it`s a huge task. But such a feature would sure make DCS a lot more realistic in terms of air training scenarios.

Gripen,

The skins would be so alike that it would be very tough to sort out the players. With the different countries, the skins are fairly easily differentiated.

BVR will be a problem, though, anytime there are like a/c in opposition.

If you mean that the correct situational awarness for players will be tougher to obtain I understand your point. But since this is a problem faced by real world fighter pilots - why should´nt we face the same problem they face?

I am sure that mission designers on this level also have an understanding for this problem, that are very much realistic. But such a feature should not be forced on any one - it should rather be an option for those "hard core realistic" mission designers.

They do have red flag aggressor squadron markings for quite a few of the aircraft that I've used so I don't think it's that big of a deal- but I agree Gripen- some guys want that challenge while others are less formal...

Having the option doesn't mean we have to use it... but like I said it's already somewhat available.

Actually, not that much. Look at US F-16 vs Turkish F-16, they're pretty hard to tell apart (ie. they look basically the same). A lot of countries have adopted the grey paint scheme on their aircrafts.

OTOH, while I completely agree that the current "coalition-by-countries" system is not really good, I suspect changing that might be more work that it looks like. I believe pretty much the entire mission core is based upon two coalitions, defined by a number of countries.

Given the way mission files are structured, I suspect the same thing.
