Dudester22 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) How do I know how many activation's I have left? I ask because after a couple of computer crashes, but without having to reinstall windows or change any hardware. My game has brought up a message about reactivating my modules. Me been to quick to want to get back into the game, I'm not sure if it has used some of my activations due to this windows crashing. Do you think this will have used some of my activations and how do I check? Also, if there is a patch and you reinstall the game from scratch like some people recommend, does this use an activation? MTFDarkEagle Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Go to your //DCS World/Mods/Aircraft/*aircraft*/ Somewhere in there (can't recall now..) should be an activate.exe or similar. If you execute it, you should be able to find in the popup menu how many installations you still have left. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
karambiatos Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 you get new activations every month, so you cant really run out of them. A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
ddocg Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 You can login to your account at http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com then go to Personal Section>My Orders In the screen that opens, under Actions click on Details at the far right then, in the next screen at the bottom there will be the option to "Check Licence" click on this and you will be presented with a window detailing how many activations have been used and how many are remaining. Do this for each of your module purchases. Dudester22 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Cool, I have about 9 activation's left for each module. I upgrade my computer every 3 years, so this means I'm ok for 27 years. Will I just contact ED for some more activation's after the 27 Years is up, if I am still walking this earth that is? Might even have the F16 by then. Edited December 2, 2013 by Dudester22
G00dnight Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 you won't need to contact, when all acts are used you are given a new act after a month if you then use that you will get another after a month so you can,t run out for more than a month and only then if you are unlucky enough to have to reinstall twice in quick succession, if you deactivate before reinstall no activations are used so you have more than 27 years LOL. Irregular programming Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 you get new activations every month, so you cant really run out of them. You don't. You get a new key after a month IF you have run out of previous activations. So yes, you will run out.
Devrim Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Cool, I have about 9 activation's left for each module. I upgrade my computer every 3 years, so this means I'm ok for 27 years...It's not necessary to think like that. If you deactivate the module before upgrading your computer, you will not lose "activation". So, you can use your serial for years. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
Hielor Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Is this something that Steam users need to be worried about, or is it handled automatically?
sobek Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 The steam version uses the exact same copy protection, not worried, but keeping it in mind is a good idea. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
rud Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I've "run out" of licenses for Black Shark 1. I've still had to install it once in a while since my copy of BS 2 is an upgrade one. Since I've never had to install it twice in 30 days it's never been an issue though.
