GripenNG Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Hello fellow pilots! I´ve tried finding information how to set up JTAC / AFAC support for myself (A-10C) in the ME. With bad success - I have no problems contacting JTAC, but they just tell me they have no tasking availible for me...still they have LOS, in range etc on a MBT. Could someone please write down the basics of the Advanced Waypoint options, and save me from this never ending trial-and-error. :( (Sorry of there already is a thread on this subject - but I could not find it) 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Snooze-81st-vFS

Rep inbound! :thumbup: EDIT: AFAC by the way...in FAC - Assign Group -> Designation -> WP/IP/Laser are all in orange colour saying (Problem no LOS, D > x NM) still though the A-10C AFAC with TGP are orbiting 3 NM from target at FL170. How come? What was the max range again, 3 km for IR and 8 km for LD? 3 nm are already about 5.4 km and on that height the slant range is also considerably longer. My guess, you are still just out of range. But afaik you can still select that option - as your FAC could be moving closer and into range. Just try it. Also perhaps possible: the mission editor just considers a default range - the range for the TGP laser should be well over 8 km anyways. Edited December 8, 2013 by Flagrum

How come? I think its orange based on the distance from the FAC assigned group to the location of the aircraft WP where the task was assigned. I think its meant for ground FACs because they won't move as needed to like the aircraft can. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. If JTAC were a bit less buggy than it is, I'd be interested in testing detection distances with aircraft. Ground units have obvious detection ranges and WP is likely fine out to those distances. Aircraft might spot a bit further.
