I had a buddy in college, who lit farps too.... :D

 

sorry, couldn't help it. I looked this up, and learned a new thing today. :thumbup:(Forward Arming and Refueling Points).

You can try:

 

["lights"] = 1,

 

on line 56 of \Saved Games\DCS\Conifg\options.lua.

 

It's safe to use this setting again and it might buy you a few frames with the FARP lights.

the addition of non lit farps

 

You can circumvent this by not adding an ATC unit (M1025 HMMWV or CP SKP-11) to the FARP, because these also control the FARP lighting - see DCS World\Scripts\World\FARP.lua for details. You'll lose the ATC as well of course, but IMO that's not too bad since it really is so rudimentary. And you'll still retain a full reload capability if the other service units are there :)

From the standpoint of wringing every last drop of performance from my system I would appreciate a pointer to any thread discussing methods for running a lean OS like Msalama mentions above. I am doing some extensive benchmarking and would like to see if it does me any good.

Hiya mate, I'd recommend you to just google for the info since it's too big a topic to go into here, and also involves some sheer trial and error because every system is different.
