The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Hi,

unpack this file to ..DCS\Mods\tech than you can find the FARP at Structures in the Mission Editor. Place it only on flat areas.

The other way is to edit these three files:

db_precountries.lua

db_units_ground.lua

StructTable.sht

But with every DCS update it will be replaced with the default files.

I think but in db_units_ground you definition fortifications... and if you create class=heliport you must definition in db_unit_misc....

Only what i definition in db_unit_ground is my other object....lamps, walls etc....

Joey and all....here is my situation...i edit this file: StructureTable, db_unit_misc, db_precountries, db_categories, unitclasses and server lua... If i load i see correct flag for heliport in editor(see my screen). BUT here is first problem:

1.) i cann´t takeoff from this farp...

2.) if i load in game i see ed farp model but no my new farp model

I think we need all info what lua files must editing(now i see 7 or 8 luas wherre i see farp or heliport).....

Any idea.....??

I can only use my FARP/FOB as a structure...

But here is the thing.

only the A-10C and P-51D can use the runway..... apart from Helicopters. all other planes stop dead as soon as the front wheels touch the ramp....

Just stumbled upon this because I am flying a lot of SAR Huey these days.

Was this mod (or anything like it) ever finished?

I could live without the ATC, but I would like to have a hospital with a helipad. Could be similar to the oil rig and ships Upuaut created, just a big grey building with a helipad on top, like the european hospital from Cities:Skylines.

I attached a screenshot.

hey guys... sorry about the delay. I still dont a have a clue on how to add new heliports any idea how we can do it? I think i will make some models and use it just as a "vehicle" i dont even remember if we can land on it. So... i will start again making some 3d stuff.

I tried some time ago without success. I may suggest you to write to ED a PM and hope for an answer. For sure any idea to create new FARP would be great.

IMHO the best solution would be to create a "point" farp model that given vehicle availability could provide FARP capability whitout even the need of a specific model (than you may place a static object as hospital above the "point").

I tried in multiple ways but AFAIK the refuel & rearm option won't work due to the lack of "contact" between the 3D model and the helos wheels (something that was called "contactor" or similar, I don't know).

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
