cichlidfan Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Seriously though... stuff is happening, I think a lot is hinging on EDGE getting merged into DCS World which is more on ED than RRG. Considering that without EDGE, there is no place to fly the aircraft, I would say everything hinges on it. This isnt true, they could be flown in the current map/engine. But I would assume an Alpha would be useless without DCS WWII maps and sim changes that might happen under the hood. Raven68 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 It will be interesting to see what kind of impact the delay of EDGE has on RRG's timing. I'm sure terrain creation is ongoing and it's just a matter of when the frame work for EDGE interfacing with DCS is complete. Any terrain created should fall into place fairly well once thats done...I hope. :) Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals

cichlidfan Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 On the bright side, Nevada is giving them a chance to get the process refined so that things should go more smoothly with the WWII terrain. Darkwolf Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 What you've described above would be a full beta. An early access alpha would be covered by 1 plane with incomplete functionality operating in a small 30x30km map. Then alpha updates could be rolled out periodically as they come available for further feedback & testing. IL2 isn't in early because it has 30km² map and 2 planes, it is in alpha because not all function is coded. Hence at this point - I do not believe the team will accomplish an alpha state of DCSWW2.exe before the summer, which i would totally understand and won't be mad after them since developpement takes a lot of time. And again, i'll be happy if it is. The point is : Be patient and don't expect too much too early  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site.
