I have two mods installed that work with 1.26, but I am not sure how to install them into 1.27. I tried copying the JSGME Mod folder located in C:/Program Files/ Eagle Dynamics/DCS World to the DCS World OpenBeta folder, but no joy. So how do I get my Mods to work with 1.27. Thanks!

JSGME doesn't have anything to do with DCS. After all, the G stands for generic. All it does is copy files around. So whatever the problem is with a mod, it's not JSGME's fault.

Now your problem is probably this: The mod folder for JSGME only contains the modified files, but to activate them, you need to start JSGME and activate the mods. So don't just copy the mod folder, but also the .exe and start it.

I did start JSGME I use it with 1.26 and I know this. Not sure what you mean by copy the exe though? Copy it and place it where? I also just noticed that JSGME is pointing to C:/Program Files/ Eagle Dynamics/DCS World and not the DCS Openbeta folder as is shown in my pic below. Does this mean it has to point to either 1.26 or 1.27 and that you cannot use it for both folders?

For the 1.2.7 Open Beta test, it is recommended NOT to use Mods.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

JSGME looks for a mod folder within the folder its .exe is located in. If you have ..\DCS 1.6\JSGME.exe, ..\DCS 1.6\JSGMEMods\ and ..\DCS 1.7\JSGME Mods\, it will not know anything about the folder in 1.7 as it doesn't look there. So you need to copy the .exe to ..\DCS 1.7\ and run it from there. But do not copy the .ini, otherwise JSGME will think the mods are already active. Or you can deactivate the mods and reactivate them.

Here's what I did, I copied the _MODS folder, JSGME.exe and the JSGME.ini over to the new folder. You have to edit the .ini file in the 1.2.7 version to show the directory path that it now resides in 1.2.7. If you don't, it will move the mod files in 1.2.6.

I also renamed my JSGME.exe's to JSGME_126.exe & JSGME_127.exe, etc. This way you can run a separate instance of this app for each instance of DCS you have.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

You'll need to extensively test each mod too. As Skate said, it's not recommended. Reason being, some folder structures may be different on 1.2.7 vs. 1.2.6. Use mods at your own risk.

If you don't copy the ini, then you don't have to edit it. Just point JSGME to your mods folder when you run it the first time and all will be fine. Renaming the executable is also not needed but that is a personal preference.

It's a personal preference to keep things straight. That way when you go to recently used programs, you know which one you're launching.
