Widowmaker013 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I used to be able to play DCS World with the A10C and P51D modules no problem... After about a year away I decided to do a fresh re-install and was ready to re-learn the A10C however whenever I try to load a training session, or any session for that matter it crashes just as It's about to load into the world.. I was able to load an instant action mission, but thats it  Edit: My system has not changed at all since the last time I played DCS Edit2: I'm able to launch Instant Action consistently, however still no luck with training or fast mission Edited January 10, 2014 by Widowmaker013
Zabuzard Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Did you reinstall the A-10C/Mustang Module from the modulmanager or did you just installed DCS-World again? You can start the A-10C and select it in the editor even when you didn't bought the module nor installed it but then the game will crash on startup or you will find yourself in a very weird cockpit :D Edit: Afaik DCS creates some crash dump files anywhere in the system. Maybe they can help but I dunno where theyre located. Edited January 10, 2014 by Zabuza
Widowmaker013 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 I installed DCS world I downloaded A10C thru the torrent provided, when I first tried to load the training mission I was asked to provide the serial number or CD key or whatever.. I did so, told me I had 9 more activations, tried to load and crashed.. It's weird, I have no problems at all loading "Instant Action" but as soon as I try to load a training mission or even a fast mission it crashes everytime

AtaliaA1 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Re-Install is OK. Did you delete the saved game folder in DCS? Widowmaker013 Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) I'm guessing it's because I'm still 32Bit? I also only have 4GB of RAM.. I just find it weird that I'm able to launch "Instant Action" without a hitch, and when it launches it flys beautifully, no stutters, nice and smooth... pacotito Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Around 1.2.5 the issues with memory under 6gb really started showing. Most likely this is your issue. If you have an older version 1.2.4 or earlier you should be able to install that and play. The only other option would be an os+memory upgrade. Pacotito I7-5820k@4.5 Z99 extreme4 16gb ddr4 520gb ssd. EtherealN Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Also note that your Windows Vista license may actually be valid for a 64-bit version too (you'd have to check the license you have specifically, but most are). That way you could get your OS updated without extra cost, and only have the RAM issue as far as real money goes. Otherwise, you would have to install an old version of DCS World, or get a new computer to run the current versions. ShuRugal Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 4GB RAM, Radeon 6900 HD 2GB, 32-Bit Win Vista There really is no reason you should need to chain down that Core 2 Quad with a 32-bit OS. As Ethereal said, your Vista license should be valid for the 64-bit install of the same version level (IE: a key for Vista Home will run 32 bit or 64 bit Vista Home, etc etc). If you have an actual install disc from M$, it should come with both versions of the installer on it.
