S77th-GOYA Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Could someone explain what new abilties we have with the new multiple controller thingy?
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 probalby you can have two profiles, one with normal throttle and one with inverted throttle for the blackshark... same if you have different curves in different aircrafts... I think.. Robbie.

Weta43 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I haven't downloaded it yet, but from previous discussion I think the idea is that you manually switch profiles just before using the aircraft. the advantage gained being that you only have to make one selection rather than adjusting curves, remapping keys if desired etc. Cheers.

Weta43 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 That makes it a bit more tricky, doesn't it? :-] Cheers.
S77th-GOYA Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 New joystick profile system is implemented. Now the player can use several joysticks of the same model. Each joystick configuration instance will have a unique file name. So all this means is Johnny can plug in all three of his X45s and config them seperately?
Weta43 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 You could have a rack by the desk... There must be some way to have the same joystick be assigned seperate profiles. A little advice from s/one at E.D. would be handy. Cheers.

We are completely redoing input system for this. The feature you are discussing there is just the ability to map two (or more) absolutaly equal joystick models in FC as different devices as they get unique IDs. Is it planned that the config will change with the selection of a plane or will the configs have to be switched manually?

S77th-GOYA Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Excellent. That's exactly what I was hoping for.
Jetfire Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 For those who have a million and one keys set to their joysticks/hotas, I did this: 1) backed up old input .ini files, ex: MicrosoftSideWinderForceFeedback2.ini In my situation, I just backed up the whole Input folder to also save the keyboard.ini and mouse.ini files. 2) ran Lockon, then closed it, then copied the new input file name ex: MicrosoftSideWinderForceFeedback28412668800.ini 3) renamed the new input file ex: MicrosoftSideWinderForceFeedback28412668800 renamed.ini 2) copied the old file ( MicrosoftSideWinderForceFeedback.ini ) to the input folder and renamed it ( MicrosoftSideWinderForceFeedback28412668800.ini ) This might cause issues in the long run, but it works perfectly at the moment, and I don't have to rebind all the keys. I did this before, with 1.02 to 1.1 to 1.11, with small adjustments for new keys for the Su25T for 1.1.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted February 11, 2006 ED Team Posted February 11, 2006 Jetfire This might cause issues in the long run, but it works perfectly at the moment, It's absolutely correct procedure, and will be work for a long, long time. :) After first start patched game I recommend to go in Options and see how the game change name your input device and compare to old one.
